I'm hoping for an actual change to the content formula they got going on now. I don't want to be able to predict what will come in patch 7.1, 7.2, etc and be mostly right. But I'm not expecting it...

Kinda agree but at the same time dubios
if they made a new Fina fantasy MMO theyd really need to stick to the game identity as an actual MMO and a final fantasy.. 14 has gone too far down the path of dumb it down and simplify the f outta it to really change much now.. it's not really an MMO anymore, its so heavily focussed on single player.. and it's not really a final fantasy experience either.. all the elements and things that made the frnachise great have been all but eradicated..
thats why i think this directon of trying to pull in players from the single player entries isnt working so well. because all those things that made the single player games interesting have been scrapped here for the sake of simplicity and accessibility even the most basic staples of the franchise like the elemental wheel.. or proper debuffs like blinding a boss so it cant hit you. silence it so it cant cast spells. paralyse it, slow it down.. things t hat actually changed fights and made the game more interesting than just whack it till its dead.. and actual identity and diversity between jobs and characters.
also any new one they make they need to relook at the lessons they apparantly learnt from 1.0 and learn them again...
Fun Comes First... not balance not homogenization not simplicity but actual deep engaging fun jobs and gameplay.
Don't forget your roots.. its Final Fantasy NOT World of Warcraft.
and all the others
so many of the decisions and the direction theyre heading in goes totally agaisnt everyhirng they "learnt" and thats why the game is struggling (for want of a better word) to keep players entertained or interested.. People go on about that huge influxx of new players. but theyve already got bored and buggered off..

-A lot less Scions. Please let us make new friends with more diverse backgrounds than all being agreeable Sharlayan scholars.
-A soul merger with the Azem shard from the 13th.
-Better control over the Echo.
-Prefer no sympathetic antagonists or at least not ones we permanently kill. I need a break from this.
-Consequences/losses for the protagonists, something we haven't had since HW.
-The WoL questioning if they're on the right side/doing the right thing. Please inject some of the DRK questline themes into the MSQ.
-A return to nuance, something we lost in EW.
At this point in time, I couldn't agree more.To be brutally honest im hoping 7.0 will be the beginning of the end of ffxiv as a whole..
while i love ffxiv and have played since beta phase 3 back in 2014 ( with a few breaks here and there ) i fear it may go the way of WOW !!
what needs to happen is a successor to ffxiv so a ffxvii mmo with true next gen graphics a new story some , new races , new classes to keep it fresh
the graphic upgrade said to be coming will be just some filters laid over the current engine .. it needs a ground up rebuild before is grows stagnate and fades away !!
yoshi -p needs to be at the helm though ..
but i truly believe ff14 needs to end and 17 needs to happen in the next few years !!
At the least I'd hope something better would emerge but then it could always be worse... still, it doesn't cost much to dream.Kinda agree but at the same time dubios

Yeah, EW's story is a low for me. Wouldn't want to see a repeat of anything like it.-A lot less Scions. Please let us make new friends with more diverse backgrounds than all being agreeable Sharlayan scholars.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Endwalker was such a let down, right now I have no expectations for 7.0
All my favorite Villains got killed, we saved this ugly world, Garlemald is destroyed, so there is nothing left. Right now I would not even Buy the next Expansion. Endwalker was such a big Hype about the Moon, Zenos, the final Days and what we got was just a joke. So the Damage is done and lesson learned. Never trust the Hype.

HATS...
FOR VIERA...
AND HROTHGAR...
JUST THAT.
I'll probably be gone by then considering the game refuses to course-correct.
This is pretty much where I am as well. I've already unsubbed and have no idea if and when I'll bother coming back to do all the patch stuff. I'll see what the direction is when 7.0 rolls around but after EW and the complete mess that it made of the story that I've been invested in for the better part of the last decade, not sure if I want to commit another decade to watching another story from these writers play out. I have no expectations, really.Endwalker was such a let down, right now I have no expectations for 7.0

I expect us to have a new job that uses Scouting gear, but who knows what it could be?
Otherwise, I expect the same things: go to a foreign place, tell them why they are wrong, fix problem, a scene of WoL and the Scions are in grave danger only to be by Dynamis, echo ... whatever.
