Final Fantasy XIV has a serious cheating problem.

I still find it a touch baffling that these RMT companies can seriously be making enough money to warrant having 30+ paid accounts going when their methods aren't exactly raking in the gil by the millions; moreso when the ones relying on crafting/scrip farming are having to compete with each other.

It makes me question if they're resorting to some manner of fraudulent "free" method of getting game time that will not result in the accounts they're actually using to farm getting purged.

You can make 200 Slithersands and 200 Sublime Solutions, selling for 3-4M ish gil per day. It requires minimal upkeep and is pretty much completely automated as the market moves fast enough that they don't need a separate undercutting bot. That isn't much but when you scale this up to several dozens it becomes apparent why this is a good method.

You literally, provably, spam this board with reddit threads you copypaste seemingly at pure random with no regard for the actual content of the post, hence the massive variation of quality in your threads and subject matter. At least change the title or reword the posts in someway.

This game has always had a cheating problem right from launch.

As far as I can tell, the client / server relationship started from a point of putting comical levels of trust in the client with very little effort to validate what was coming back. It's a pretty safe assumption that this was in the name of keeping server costs as low as possible. A historic trend with SE and MMOs.

The best example? Remember at launch when people could spoof the client to tell the server they had just handed in things at the Grand Company counter? You'd see RMT bots stood there leveling from 1 to 50 in a matter of seconds before teleporting off to start farming.

Every single legendary node/white scrip node is botted to hell nowadays. If you went to any EW white scrip node, you'd see at least 3 to 6 bots even at dead hours. On top of that, the botters over at the Frozen Fissure pond in Mare Lamentorum are quite crazy, they cancel the ENTIRE hooking animation and recast immediately lol.

How do they not get banned is just beyond me, they have very obvious patterns and a simple GM jailing them for questions would expose them so fast. The only explanation is that they enjoy the 10 retainer services most of the bot accounts have.

Who cares about players trying to make gil using gathering/crafting when they can make money from the bots subscriptions? lol.
