Make your character a part of the LGBT community. Literally no one can tell you otherwise since it's your character.

And if that's not enough, head-canon some background NPCs. Who's to say you're wrong about a character who hasn't appeared in a cutscene where they're more than just someone in the crowd or someone having a conversation in the distance?
