Deposit refund and House?

JP is pretty darn big on the honor system method. I thought the post was most precious and am somewhat of the surprised they are doing this approach.

Only have one friend who accepted refund but he stated that he will be turning it in to that npc because he; "Worked for that damn house."

So if someone made a deposit and didn’t claim it back yet, do they still get their house if they decide claim their deposit between now and the 16th? It would be a bit unfair if it wasn’t the case: the carefree players who claimed their deposits back get a free house while those who didn’t touch it out of precaution get their gils taken away.

I am assuming you can take your gil out of the house if you feel it is justified that you should not have to pay due to a bug you did not create. This is so they can make amends to those who wish for more compensation, and if you wish to still pay for your house you can. You can also just leave it and wait for the day which I will do for my fc. It is an honor system as well as an apology.

While I don't like the way they are handling this it does less damage than some of the alternatives.

I suggest adding a title to their placard/house description such as freeloader until the gil deposit is returned. It's minor and will let everyone know they got something that should have been fully paid for.
