In light of the recent discussions about 3rd party tools I have a bold suggestion

It isn’t about winning,

Rules weren’t followed, and that’s what happened & it upset most of you as though seeking retribution on it,

Affect those that didn’t use it? Highly doubt it & certainly not affecting me,

What toxicity are you even on about…? The issue with most of you people it’s that the forums being over flooded by this “Addons/third party/mod/“ posts ongoing in display to your frustration; akin to SAM’s posts changes.

If its that bad that someone disagrees & pricks your bubble then I’d say its rather amusing

A community that regularly puts on a "holier than thou" act while going on witch hunts against people they don't like makes for a tiresome experience, especially when major design and gameplay flaws have recently done much to erode a lot of people's goodwill.

These people hardly care about the rules themselves, they care about being aligned with what they perceive as morally correct. I however take issue with such a heavy-handed approach and having been on the receiving end of this community's hate trains before, I don't like seeing it happen to other people.

Some casual players have a weird habit on this game of trying to farm misery any time something negative happens in the high-end content community.

Just look back at when Ultimate was cancelled in SHB; Even people expressing their disappointment in completely reasonable ways were inundated by weird casual players gloating about the loss of something they were looking forward to.

I think for some reason they hold a lot of resentment for people who take the game seriously, maybe out of insecurity. It's honestly really exhausting to deal with.

Shadowbringers was plagued with a chronic lack of battle content throughout most of the expansion-or at least it felt like that anyway. For the first half of the expansion neither hardcore nor casual battle content enjoyers were being catered too, instead they expected us all to go do Ishgard Restoration despite these players not having an interest in that kind of content. Time will tell how things go for Endwalker, but for now at least the PVP was a fun surprise.

Why the hostility?

I'm hostile because you are being blatantly ignorant while talking about content you've never touched a day in your life. You want to negatively impact the gameplay experience of other people doing something you have never and probably will never attempt, likely out of fear of being criticized for your performance in it. Not only that, but you also want to deprive people of the opportunity to discuss or criticize the policy in the first place.

I really couldn't care less about the streamers who got banned, and tbh I feel like Cactbot callouts are cringe as hell. But just repeating "it went against ToS!" and bringing up the incident that sparked this debate, isn't a means to invalidate it. It's incredibly disingenuous and shows the only real motivation you have here is to silence the discussion altogether. "The rules are valid because they're the rules, boy I sure sound intelligent don't I?"

The core of the whole 3rd-party tool war, the starting of it was simply a group of angry people using the random, spare ammo left here, there and in the next continent over to weaponize the TOS due to what happened with WFR. It didn't help that many a streamer went big on addons either.

Whoever said that SE takes swift action, should know the next part. They don't go chasing these violations by themselves, normally. They act when someone brings it up to them. However, they were paying some manner of attention to the teams in process of clearing it.

The entire reaction on both sides has been pretty terrible.
