In light of the recent discussions about 3rd party tools I have a bold suggestion

Try staying in your own lanes. I've seen too many disingenuous or outright misinformed takes from people who have no idea how raiding or parsing works. If you have no knowledge on the subject then try not speaking on it. I think we would all be happier that way, personally, in my opinion. This is me coming at you as a (former) raider who doesn’t use ACT. Just shut up. Please.

But doesn't ACT do your rotation for you and light up the safe zones?

    just so toxic.

ACT actually just rescues you to the safe zones before it even happens, no need for the light ups!

What more needs to be said really…?

    I am glad it happened
"Swift action"? lol there was no swift action. Let's not forget that one time Yoshi saw someone with ACT clear an ultimate iirc. Third party-use has been "softly" allowed for years and there'll still be usage of it. No one wins here because this also affects people who don't even touch raiding. I guess if you think, for whatever reason, it will cut down toxicity in your weird reality it's a win for you.

    It isn’t about winning,

Rules weren’t followed, and that’s what happened & it upset most of you as though seeking retribution on it,

Affect those that didn’t use it? Highly doubt it & certainly not affecting me,

What toxicity are you even on about…? The issue with most of you people it’s that the forums being over flooded by this “Addons/third party/mod/“ posts ongoing in display to your frustration; akin to SAM’s posts changes.

If its that bad that someone disagrees & pricks your bubble then I’d say its rather amusing

A community that regularly puts on a "holier than thou" act while going on witch hunts against people they don't like makes for a tiresome experience, especially when major design and gameplay flaws have recently done much to erode a lot of people's goodwill.

These people hardly care about the rules themselves, they care about being aligned with what they perceive as morally correct. I however take issue with such a heavy-handed approach and having been on the receiving end of this community's hate trains before, I don't like seeing it happen to other people.

I think for some reason they hold a lot of resentment for people who take the game seriously, maybe out of insecurity. It's honestly really exhausting to deal with.
Shadowbringers was plagued with a chronic lack of battle content throughout most of the expansion-or at least it felt like that anyway. For the first half of the expansion neither hardcore nor casual battle content enjoyers were being catered too, instead they expected us all to go do Ishgard Restoration despite these players not having an interest in that kind of content. Time will tell how things go for Endwalker, but for now at least the PVP was a fun surprise.

Sure, pal. I'm saying that people use add-ons for things not related to raiding (gposers, housers, rpers), to name a few will be affected; if you think only raiders use add-ons you're just wrong.

Any addon/mod that was used ultimately went against ToS regardless,

Now why they didn’t addressed & tackled this before? I am equally curious & bewildered,

Needlessly speaking we’ll have yet to see for further announcements

Personally, I've never parsed. However, as a raid member of someone else that did, the information was invaluable to our group. We could see where improvement was needed. It was rarely discussed player-to-player. "Hey Soandso, you need to get better" - that just didn't happen. Each individual would look at it and see where they were lacking. As a group, we could see that maybe we weren't lining up our group buffs ideally.

My problem with SE's take on parsing is that they design these raids with hard DPS checks and then forbid us to check our DPS. Why not just make it all about the mechanics and provide an "ideal" clear time. If you beat that time, you get 2 coffers. If you don't beat that time and still clear, you get 1 coffer. Change the rewards however. Maybe you get 2 coffers but no item upgrades (left-side, right-side, weapon).

Another option: How about a DPS meter visible only to the player. Just a visual bar, not a number. If your DPS is low to clear the encounter by enrage, the bar is low. If your DPS is on pace, it goes middle. If your DPS is above pace, it goes high. Make it job-specific. Maybe set the expectation to be about 15% damage for DPS, 12% for tanks and 8% for healers (numbers subject to change). If you aren't on pace to do 15% of the total enemy's HP as a DPS, then your bar is low.

    No thanks,

It will still reinforce meta on the wrong hands & ultimately become a norm; its what happened to WoW & not many were happy about it,

Parse shouldn’t be a thing at all
