But they did patch a fix to the physics breaking when killed by a giant... then un-fixed it because the community got mad due to liking it lol

The flat is Earth guys

Though I think the recent wave of forum Karening about mods is the frothing screams of people worked up over a combination of self-righteousness and purse-clutching, to be completely fair to Square Enix it's a different beast in Japan. Back in 2019, Japan created a law making modding games and consoles illegal. Not toothless "don't you download that copyrighted song" illegal, but prison time illegal. The gacha game industry has some powerful, connected people over there who don't like it when the peasants mess with their cash cows.

Spirit of the example was that adding something may add a crash, and normally a company would be like uh... no..
My fault for picking a company legendary for not caring to fix bugs since "It Just Works"™, but I felt it was also worth the risk since it's the most ubiquitous to modding and consequences of modding poorly (of course the main game has bugs, that having the USSEP is mandatory to have complete experience, but easy to go from game fixed to game unfunctional real quick with the wrong mod or combination of mods). Skyrim with USSEP is more playable than a skyrim without mods. Better example might easily be picked but then would be far less popular and easy to point out the catastrophic, and easily obtainable, opportunities of modding gone wrong lol.

Incorrect. They made it illegal to mod console hardware and resell it. This is has nothing to do with PC modding and even then most mods aren't being sold.Though I think the recent wave of forum Karening about mods is the frothing screams of people worked up over a combination of self-righteousness and purse-clutching, to be completely fair to Square Enix it's a different beast in Japan. Thats silly...they wouldn't & Shouldn't stop making Ultimate Content because a few guys Cheated.
Should we just cancel all Extreme, Savage & Minstrel Trials while we are at it because some people might be cheating on that too? Nah, doesn't make since to me bruh, that would be less content (that people are already complaining we are losing) in the game, and that would be punishing people who had nothing to do with it.

Doesn't mean they can't be nervous about it, at least to the point of grandstanding now and again. The Japanese playerbase gets a bug up their butts about it, suddenly Square acts. The fussing about it will die down when 5ch stops raging about it. It has nothing to do with the smug anti-parser NA community regardless.

Personal and unpopular opinion: if I saw a number that said how much dev time went into making all ultimate/savage fights and was told it was on par to, say, 2 dungeons per patch I would say axe away.Thats silly...they wouldn't & Shouldn't stop making Ultimate Content because a few guys Cheated.
