Not impossible at all. There's a difference between discrimination and expression. If I chose to advertise an fc as heterosexual I'd be totally allowed to do and to recruit like minded players. That however doesn't give me the right to treat you or anyone else like dirt..

It'd be the same if I advertised my fc as Spanish. And a Dutch player couldn't join because they don't speak the same language.. not discriminating against Dutch players.just as advertising a heterosexual fc wouldn't be discriminating against homosexual players..

I mean you don't have to advertise your FC as such but it does help LGBT people feel more comfortable with joining that FC. I've ran into my share of homophobia in game and yes, I have reported them and no, the GMs never did anything about it. So any time my static's needed to recruit a member in the past I always ask my raid leader to make sure the person is okay with LGBT people as I don't really want to sit and listen to slurs while I'm trying to prog through an ultimate. Like yeah, the game is one of the most LGBT friendly games out there and in most cases you can safely assume people aren't bigots, but I'd still rather not worry about being harassed over my orientation or hear slurs when I'm just trying to have fun in a videogame.

And for the record I don't assume people's FCs are filled with bigots if they don't state "LGBTQ friendly". It realistically probably didn't cross the recruiter's mind.

This will probably be my last time posting here because things are getting so silly in example that I must confess I doubt the reality of the examples many people post like this: To say the moderation is full-proof would be dishonest, I acknowledge that before. However, if you're actually running into homophobia so casually in the only game I see male catboys getting it on in the alley behind the Quicksands, I more have to question the people you frequent than the rampancy of any phobias as a whole. To say nothing of casual slurs being tossed out as if completely common.

I suppose I don't have a dog in this race anyways. Do as you will. I just think it's not necessary and explained my own qualms with it, but ultimately it takes nothing away from my gameplay. If you people genuinely believe bigotry is around every corner, then godspeed with your paranoid delusions, you crazy diamonds. I've played this game since HW and had experienced all but maybe one person who had the nerve to say something verifiably offensive in chat. Full-party report. Presumably got a warning. Haven't encountered anything else to this day. Maybe I'm lucky. Maybe my friends are lucky. Maybe literally everyone I know is lucky and the community is a cesspool of hateful predators.

EDIT: I also realize that you mentioned later on, due to my own poor reading, that this isn't common in the game in your experience either. Though doesn't this discredit your caution considerably? Either way. Statement stands.

I was referenicng a snippet from the OP language being tied to nationality.

at the end of the day everyone has the right to express themselves.

So if someone set up an Asian FC, Hispanic FC Liberal FC , Conservative FC, Homosexual FC, Hetrosexual FC or any other FC That's perfecrtly fine. there's nothing discriminiatory about any of those. even if you felt excluded from some or maybe all of them.

Yes. It is very necessary because while yes you CAN report people who express anti-LGBT sentiment openly both in and out of game, it's still quite bothersome to deal with in the first place. I'd just rather be in a guild where my presence is openly welcomed.

Tbh, i don't care what and how people advertise things.
It's up to them what people they want in their group.

But I also have a question to all these who getting harassed so often.
How does the harassing player's know that you are LGBTQ+ or part of that community?
Why does a random player has so much informations about you that he can offend you on purpose.

I just wonder that because I once was in a situation were one player whom I knew nothing about accused me of being racist to him because of his religion, and all that just because he didn't like how I and the whole discord were organizing stuff.
There was no reason for us to even know his believes, he just accused us because it didn't went the way he wanted.
