I'd really just like a new event, I don't think we have had any new events in years. It's been the same seasonal ones we have, which is fine they are for special holidays, and then a bunch of reruns of older events with rewards that we've already gotten. Just kind of adds to the stale feeling of the game.

It was already established with Midgardsormr and Omega. And Gilgamesh, although it never really comes up.

Well, to be fair they're already FF staples over time. I was more referencing the fact that there's worlds beyond what is actually Final Fantasy material.

They're clearly designed to be fun and provide a little fan service to people like myself who appreciate them.

Rathalos is still one of my favorite mounts. I wish there was an emote where he either belched fire or used his deafening scream.

Monster Hunter is a completely different level of crossover. It's literally just "here's a monster, fight it". You aren't expected to get invested.

NieR drags us through a whole alliance raid and interquels and six weeks of coming back for busywork quests for... what, exactly? A rambling and underexplained plot where everyone either treats us like a lackey or just makes zero effort to explain anything to us. A story on this scope deserves to be an enjoyable experience, but there was very little in it that made me care about any of what was happening.

But I do believe that there's some lore that deserves to be added in the next Encyclopedia Eorzea (whenever it gets released)
Given that the remains of the Bunker are now permanently located behind Tomra, I find it all the more perplexing that they ended things so abruptly. Reveal to us that 9S and 2B traveled to the First from a remaining shard, made possible when the machine lifeforms discovered a Seed of Resurrection/Destruction. Y’shtola hears about it from us and incorporates that knowledge into whatever she learns during our journey to the Thirteenth.

The Crystal Tower series tied directly into MSQ. YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse could’ve likewise amplified and reinforced the lore of XIV. My "Yokoverse adventure" began with the first Drakengard in ‘09. I've come to appreciate the sense of openness found in DrakeNieR endings. We’re given enough info to have a sense conclusion alongside supplementary material such as novellas and stage plays, yet many aspects are left open and vague—left for us to ponder and discuss. But in this case, it just feels like a missed opportunity.

I heard one of the reason why the Nier raid was so bad was because Yoshida was purposefully stifling Yoko Taro's creativity.

I don't know about the creativity part, but they did force him to make the 24man significantly easier. I remember something along the lines of Yoshi P telling him that the initial Puppet's Bunker would be too difficult for players and his answer was just something like "Then they just die and try again".

Supposedly Taro wanted a lot more instant-kill mechanics. Most of them were shot down.

He also joked about clearing the raid causing your character to be deleted. Well, "joked", if you've played a Nier game you know.

Imagine a 24 man version of a UCOB version of the last raid boss. That would be extremely chaotic and I'd be all in for it. We'd get a lot more whiners and complainers that NieR is invading their personal XIV experience and we'd never hear the end of it.

I think that's what kind of upsets me more. How they (the machine lifeforms and YoRHa) got there is just left to the imagination. We'll never get the answer but acknowledged that it happened anyways. And thus, live with it. I wasn't estatic on how it ended either. I enjoyed the overall Fanservice, the story in the middle, the extras like hair, glam, minions and the raids.

I'm sorry that the whole NieR experience was inconvenient to you.

I take it you heard this from a friends cousin who has a friend that works as a janitor at the Square Enix building in Shinjuku?

Technically the Nier raid hinted at the direction that Endwalker would take, and added the possibility of interstellar travel. I think it’s actually quite possible Nier will come back into play someday, just like we once thought Omega, Ivalice, Crystal Tower, and Alexander raids. were pointless. All raids matter, and your comment might one day age like milk.
