I missed the edit, but adding onto what Kizuya said if you haven't done the new Lahabrea duty in ARR he one-shots the WoL. Hydaelyn has to raise you to continue the fight.

As for the reveling, Emet likely went along with whatever Hythlodaeus and Azem wanted to do, which I sincerely doubt was debate.

Elidibus we needed the help of another unsundered and time travel. Without it we’d have been dead lol.
Lahabrea was out-double-crossed by Thordan. They were both planning to backstab each other, it's just that Thordan was better at it. Point to... not just 'the sundered', but not even an overly exceptional one. Thordan didn't even have the Echo.

Emet's death has a number of elements, to the point where none can get sole credit, but at the same time none of those features can be discounted, either. And one of those things is that G'raha outsmarts him on multiple occasions. You wave off 'time travel' like it's cheating, but a big part of why G'raha keeps steps ahead of Emet is because only one of those two people even knows time travel is real.

Elidibus... look, Emet gets points in the fight even though I don't think he necessarily meant to (the 'seat of Azem' mini-speech just before the trial is clearly more a lamentation and eulogy for his lost friend than actually directed to us like some seem to think), but remember that 'beating an Ascian in a fight' is often the easy part of killing one. The actual nail in Elidibus' coffin is pretty much full credit to G'raha setting up one hell of a trap. Hell, even more kudos to him for managing to pull off that trap when Elidibus had literally taken a crystal containing the information about said trap. That's not just pure intelligence, that's some wicked cunning.

Genuinely, a common element of all three Unsundered is that they meet their end at least partially through being outwitted. I can't believe that the Unsundered are universally smarter, when the one common thread of all three Unsundered Ascians is 'getting outsmarted by old men with wizard staffs'.

big credit goes to the sundered for not only figuring out time travel before the ascians but also figuring out a method of traveling shards with an intact body.

Elidibus was outsmarted by Emet though, not Graha. If emet hadn’t intervened we literally would be dead. Also again, Emet’s undoing was his kindness. He could have killed graha, could have killed the scions, he didn’t. Outside of plot armor the only excuse we have for that is his “kindness” Also again, with Lahabrea, his mind was deteriorated beyond repair. And he had just been beaten by us. That wasn’t outsmarting him so much as it was being taken out of the picture. Let’s not act like the scions don’t have an absurdly amount of plot armor lol. Very little is actually won through their own effort and very much is simply handed to them. Also correct me if i’m wrong….but the technology used to time travel was founded by an ascian/ancient was it not?

Considering they needed higher up help from said ascians/ancients i have to disagree.

time travel was based on Alexander which was made in part because of an ascian so credits due on that but the physical shard crossing was pure sundered.

Huh? Time travel was largely based off exceptionally advanced technology that was placed into the hands of the Sundered as a consequence of Omega arriving on Etheirys. If not for Omega's arrival, the feat would very likely have not have been possible.

Much in the same way as how the arrival of the dragons gave the Sundered access to very powerful entities to lean on for aid in a pinch on numerous occasions.

I don't know about you, though if a powerful alien entity stopped by tomorrow to give me a cup of tea and the power to transcend mortal limits then it'd be pretty hard to credit myself as the reason for victory. At a stretch I could say I accomplished an impressive feat but the bulk of the credit would go to the entity that empowered me.

It doesn't matter which racial group can claim credit for what discoveries in the end. All discoveries are made 'standing on the shoulders of giants' as it were, and the people taking that next step deserve every bit of credit for their insights in putting the pieces together. You really can't take that away from Biggs III and his team.

The point of this conversation was because people were giving examples on how the sundered are just as intelligent as the unsundered, when in reality almost every major achievement of the sundered is only due to help from a higher up unsundered entity.

This strikes me as a silly assertion to debate over, because the unsundered are now extinct and humanity is still progressing.

We have no idea, though, exactly how many "giants' shoulders" the Unsundered stood on. We don't know if their achievements were due to gigantic leaps made by a few innovative pioneers or a communal effort of many minds working together. Hell, for all we know, there could have been some other even more advanced societies (like The Plenty) who gave them a "nudge".

Personally, I'd argue that the average Sundered and average Ancient are relatively equal in intellect, but a genius Sundered is somewhat inferior to a genius Ancient. Then, creation magicks widen the gap to insurmountable levels.
