hire a mersenary to help you
Same here, Provided I'm home I usually help if I see people struggling.Just like Pepper, if you ever need help and I'm on just let me know ^^ I've been helping random groups out on their AF, makes me sad when I see people who have been shouting for hours and get no help. I try to get to them in order that I see them and between helping friends/ls mates. I'm absolutely drained but keep going xD
This.
I actually really like party play. So my buddy and I were pretty excited about the light-party recommendation in the quest info. We got a couple of other people and asked them to run as level 30ish classes so the challenge would still be present. We went to do my buddies quest for pally first, and we had him as gladiator, me as pugilist, a conjurer, and a lancer. We wiped about 5 times before the CNJ and LNC went to lvl 50 jobs, and the wipes weren't even close. We had absolutely no chance; couldn't cure fast enough, even our tank's DEF was negligible (to say nothing for my own), and the lancer and my own damage output was laughable. Out of 5 wipes, we killed ONE baddie, and that was after tank died, lancer died, I died, and tank was raised to land a killing blow only to die again.
I love a challenge. In fact sometimes I play games wrong because of added difficulty. I always choose gear that looks cool over gear with better stats (though at the time, the cool gear happened to be the good gear). But the difficulty of the job quests, at least the 2 that I have participated in, seems just ridiculous. If a party that fills most standard party conventions (tank, DD, healer), and is at the recommended level can't even pretend to have a chance, I think it stops being a challenge and just becomes stupid hard.
But I have Monk now, which is awesome. But I dread future Monk quests, and as bad as I want Bard, I am in no hurry.
I had the same trouble doing the LV30 BLM quest...as a 43 THM. I had to fight three gnats at once, and of course they're resistant against thunder so that leaves me with little options. I spammed my fire spells but their health pools are SO much higher than that of a regular level 35 monster. I finally teamed up with two of my LS mates later on and finished it. :/
I'm not saying we don't need a challenge, but something is a little imbalanced if I can't solo a quest 13 levels over the point I can take it, or if a full group of people at level can't beat it.
People will help you if you ask them. Its something I like in this game, many people are very social and ready to help you. Otherwise find a linkshell first and do it with your mates. Its an online game after all and its not meant to get all the stuff on day one.
I agree, we had no problem getting help. They even agreed to go in as lvl 30s with us to preserve the challenge, and after we wiped 5 times they were like, " We've got some 50s we could switch to real quick if you want." And at that point we were so aggravated at the insane difficulty (and when I play smashbrothers with my lil bro I hold the controller upside down), that we were like "HELZ YEAH!!! SCREW THESE MOBS!!!"
But I don't think the problem was finding helpful people, at least not on Fabul. It was that even with helpful people, if you were in moderate range of the quest level, it was still likely to wipe the whole party.

This is what I was looking for, since I couldn't find a level 30 party myself to test out the content.I had the same trouble doing the LV30 BLM quest...as a 43 THM. I had to fight three gnats at once, and of course they're resistant against thunder so that leaves me with little options. The main issue I want to address is not about finding a group or the willingness of people in this game to help, the community is actually very helpful and amiable and I commend them for it, actually. So thank you to all the people who offered me help, I appreciate it.
The main thing I'm wondering though is whether this is REALLY suited for level 30 group play, and it just seemed way too hard for that. SE said they wanted the job quest content to help progression from 30-50, and giving a quest at level 30 that a group of level 30's have no chance to complete is not meeting the goals of what the content was supposedly designed for. It's not smooth progression, and I can see it turning people away.
I do believe that people will eventually help if you ask around, but you shouldn't have to resort to having a level 50 run you through stuff, and this is more of a tacked on idea, but when I say there is no incentive for people to help, I just mean that these helpful level 50's could be institutionally rewarded somehow to lessen the feeling that they are getting burnt out or something, so people don't feel like they have to shoulder the weight of noobs all on their own.

I did a few of the job quests after the release and it was pretty easy to find other people in the same situation or strangers willing to help My fear is that in 2 months when I am ready to do the remaining jobs everyone will have moved on to new content and those "left behind" will really struggle to catch up, at least until the huge inflow of new players with 2.0![]()
i agree asking help while you cant return anything to them is real pain in the ass.
even with ls , its still
Maybe it helps to use some potions now, too
Like poisoning potions, silencing potions and sleeping potions
