You *could* use macros for ARR and Heavensward patches, but it was still optimal to do them manually with Maker’s Mark. As for bots and expert crafting, that’ll always exist no matter what, can’t avoid that, but at least gear prices wouldn’t be so low like they are now.

I'm not sure it wouldn't. I'm currently doing HW crafting and there really isn't too high of an entry barrier. The only thing that holds me down is just the fact I went full version relatively recently and my Retainers aren't yet ready to bring me materials from hunting. You *could* use macros for ARR and Heavensward patches, but it was still optimal to do them manually with Maker’s Mark. My friend botted in ARR and was apart of an entire crafting linkshell that controlled the flow of the economy or attempted to.
ARR crafting was just a gate keep.
No thanks.Crafting in 2022 to sum it up, is “boring.” You just copy a macro you get from the Balance discord and as long as your stats and melds are decent, you spam the macro over and over. This makes crafting so boring and too easy. And don’t even get me started on how cheap things are on the Marketboard.
Competition is good, but there needs to be incentive. If there’s no incentive because the marketboard is full off bots and people spamming a macro, then what’s the point? Gear pieces cost 90,000 Gil or less. I’m ARR or Heavensward, gear pieces easily costed at least 300,000 Gil minimum.
Expert crafting mechanics should be added into regular crafting. It’ll raise the price of gear and it’ll make Gil easier to earn for everyone who tries.

Because you can't macro Experts. That was proven in the Firma contest. Macro's were not at all reliable and only people paying attention got into the top. The only people who blew the numbers out of the water were account sharing and that was proven

At least Square did more attempts at banning bots in ARR than they have any time since. Botting is rampant what with CWT. IF they simply stopped Cross World GIL Trade, it would help the markets a little bit. But currently it's pointless to try to make any money from crafting like it used to be. Items that would generally sell for 6-7 digits in prior expansions now only go for around 5 digits. Or food and pots that normally would take time and effort to gather the materials, let alone craft all base mats before crafting the actual items now sell for next to nothing. IT's kind of a joke currently
