Some of these Japanese games were slam dunks for their sexual content though. You’re not fooling anyone when the 1000 year old character looks like a 15 year old girl. PlayStation is too big of a platform to risk publishing certain games on it, even if it were locked behind an adult only section of the store that you couldn’t access until customer support did ID verification (which they do in Japan already).
The content of Square Enix games would be entirely fine if Sony acquired them, there would be absolutely nothing to worry about. If you play vanilla anyway, some of the mods for FF7R or FFXIV on PC are slightly across the line Sony would publish themselves.

*Watches SE's ethics department change scenes and textures in the Chrono Cross rerelease*
*Watches Sony censor large breasts in Japanese games and release TLoU2 in it's entirety*

They haven't exactly been batting 100 lately. Every thing they've put out that isn't FF has been a massive flop and even that's arguable if FF is still staying afloat.
Final Fantasy 13, 14 1.0 and 15 were all pretty poorly received overall. A Realm Reborn and it's expansions have really been the saving grace. I guess FF7R also but it's actually a multipart time travel sequel so I'm sure plenty of people are just waiting for everything to finally release in a decades time to play it all at once. Overall they're doing pretty poor when you consider all their historical IPs and the amount of amazing studios they have (well had in the case of the NA stuff they're selling to Embracer Group).
It's mismanagement to the finest and all things considered, I'll take Sony owning them over Epic, Tencent, Microsoft or Blockchain/NFT garbage.
*looks at various Mana and SaGa re-releases*
*looks at Voice of Cards games, Bravely Default II, and Triangle Strategy*
*looks at DQ11*
You sure about that? You POSITIVE about that?
Triangle Strategy, Neo TWEWY, Forspoken looks good, Bravely Default 2.
Lineup hasn’t been that bad honestly. Some flops for sure but still pretty good.
Edit: someone beat me to it!
And for every Triangle Strategy (Extremely niche game btw not sure why you people picked that as an argument lol), mana game, and DQ game is a an equally terrible flop. If it's 50/50 that's failing.
