You go to Chromie and you can pick a different expansion to level in. Unless that is locked from trail version.None of this "stories you want to do". No dailies anymore, just a grind for resources to enhance your character that wither away at expansions end (I'm still salty as heck about the transition from Legions to BFA, where you throw away that cool weapon you had spent so many resources building it into something cooler only to have it replaced within the first minute of the new expansion).
"Level" by that you mean blasting through vast amounts of levels in an afternoon (20+) because the game is so hyper focused on "end game" that the leveling experience ultimately doesn't matter in the slightest and has been nerfed into oblivion.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Bingo.
If you have complaints about the game, voice them in an intelligent manner that amounts to more than "I don't like this, fix it! (usually followed by some combination of insulting the devs for being lazy/incompetent/liars/etc."
If, however, you've been complaining about the game and/or the developers being bad for years now then maybe you should just accept that the game isn't what you want it to be and move on. Some of the users here complain that the game hasn't been good since Heavensward. Heavensward came out 7 years ago. Stormblood came out 5 years ago. If the game hasn't been good since either of those two, according to you, it's been bad (or at least on the downward trend) for literally longer than it was good. Let that sink in for a second. You've been paying for and supporting something you actively dislike for at least 5 years. Those devs that you claim are useless/incompetent/lazy/liars? You've been paying their salaries for at least 5 years.
In what other world would you feel happy doing that and wanting to keep doing it? A restaurant used to be great 7 years ago but has sucked ever since? Would you really still be going there every week? You've been married to your partner for 12 years but the last 7 years have been increasing amounts of awful? Would you really not be looking for the door?
Or, maybe, you just get off on being a melodramatic whiner and *gasp* don't actually think the game is anywhere near as bad as you like to claim it is. Or, maybe, you should just admit that you're addicted and have an unhealthy relationship with something that is clearly just making you unhappy (and is costing you relatively high amount of money to keep doing).
You can only access Chromie time if you've completed the entire BfA expansion on at least one character. Otherwise you are very much forced to do BfA, just like with Shadowlands you are forced to follow the story until you've completed it at least once.
Also, WoW does indeed have dailies, or at least they did in 9.1. Korthia/Maw Dailies would like to say hi. Korthia dailies being required because you needed to do the things to get several different currencies to be able to access several different things that if you didn't have you wouldn't be able to get into M+ groups. Now I will admit, maybe they moved away from that in 9.2.... but I'm gonna have to press X to doubt.
Nor is any of this relevant to the thread at hand. If a person has a complaint that has a reasonable fix, not something that would require the Devs to likely reconstruct huge portions of the game (I've seen a few wanting stuff like that) or take a huge shift from the current set-up (and even then everyone is allowed their opinions) then telling them to unsub is uncalled for. Now if someone is posting multiple complain threads a week and never seems to have anything good to say about the game I can see it being a response, and not as a way to defend the game but as a serious concern on whether or not that person is actually enjoying their free time. After all, it is a game. If you don't enjoy it why play it?
One of the issue's I've noticed is more ppl emerging that display a belief that every game should cater to them and what they want specifically. One of the most recent examples would be Elden Ring where it appears a number of streamers grabbed the game because of hype or popularity having never played a souls-like game before and doing no research then having a meltdown within the first 20 minutes of playing the game because it handed them their ass which they then followed with blatantly insulting the game and every aspect of it biasedly, insulting From Software and the dev team that worked on it, even insulting the players and community that enjoy the game and games like it.Bingo.

I rarely see anyone insisting that the game should cater to them and them alone. It just so happens that there's a lot of posters who like to drift from thread to thread in an attempt to police what feedback is offered and insist that it's 'nOt ThAt KiNd Of GaMe' in response to pretty much any suggestion whatsoever.
If anything, I see a lot of people asking for more variety in general as well as content that dynamic and doesn't require a huge amount of setup in order to jump into.
Do you keep paying for Netflix if you don't like the shows? Do you keep eating at that restaurant if they changed the recipes up n you no longer enjoy their food? Why is being subbed to xiv any different? This has nothing to do with defense. It's called common sense. Don't put you money into things you aren't enjoying
It is also entirely possible to enjoy a game despite its flaws, while being able to criticize what one doesn't like. A lot of the time, especially lately, the default reaction to most complaints has been "leave then, no one cares" as if it is some sort of personal attack. A few regulars have been called out on this, and none of them take kindly to that. Well, neither do people being told to leave. It's not as black and white as some make it out to be.Do you keep paying for Netflix if you don't like the shows?
