You seem to think of it as a bad thing, or a punishment of sorts. That's not the case. It's merely a means of reminding one to be careful or letting them learn. Defeat can very much be a great teacher, and having the YPYT method does not equate malice, condemnation, or toxicity.
If a parent tells their child that the Stove is hot, and the child touches it anyway, the child is less likely to touch the stove when it's hot. That's all it is.
