Don't Nerf the New Ultimate Or undertune Future Ultimate.

Only 1 team has clear and many streamers are struggling, but eventually clear videos will be out and new strategies as well. New gear will slightly help (ivl 605) with dps as well.

I have yet to even attempt this ultimate after clearing previous ones but I will try it after strategies are out. Many people will eventually clear it, just requires time/patience.

I doubt they will nerf it because it's not particularly intended for anyone to clear it in the first place. If it's designed for anyone, it is streamers because there is a financial investment to make it look good on streams. They expect that maybe non-streamers will enter it and try it out but probably not clear it. When the previous ultimate released, players were told that most of them would probably never enter it, but that they would appreciate if we watched it on streams.

If it was intended for the general player base to clear it like savage and the clear rates were in single digits then they probably would nerf it, because the gear drops from savage are a part of the main gear cycle and they want casuals in party finder to be able to get it.

I don't think any high-end content has been nerfed since Midas in Heavensward. TEA was adjusted recently but I think it was related to RMT. You can argue that potency changes, battle system adjustments and gear increases nerf it because old content is not revisited and balanced for each patch. As you mentioned, once people have had time to find efficient or braindead strategies it will become easier unless you do it blind. Although only a minority of people do raid content blind, there are a lot of people that do.

This is the big one.

A lot of people don't realize that many of these mechanics that seem super daunting at first will be continuously solved until a 'braindead' method exists. If you look at the evolution of some of the strategies around things earlier in the fight like Sanctity or even PlayStation chains in phase 1, they've been rapidly simplified.

Have the previous ones been nerfed in any capacity other than the player jobs themselves getting buffs slowly over the years?
I can't recall any nerfs happening to the ultimate fights directly.

It will be slightly nerfed next patch since the item sync level is 605

Unfortunately this isn't something that can be avoided. That's just the nature of content aging. The only way for this to be avoided is if they completely redesigned the level synch function. Which I wouldn't be against, but it is rather unlikely to ever happen.

I was under the impression you specifically had to farm on-level BiS due to the fact that materia don't function in sync'd down gear...or did they finally fix that?

its more complicated than that. synced gear does not apply materia stats but the actual value of the on-level attribute remains. you get 2 capped substats if you level sync gear ~100 item levels above, and that is better than materia.

So farming BiS for TEA was only a thing because at the time, the item levels were not high enough for item sync to overcome the lack of materia?

I guess that makes me feel a bit less intimidated about trying to get into ultimates now.
