New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

Call me paranoid, but I don't like how it's vague enough to potentially claim that the answer to that question was for Viera specifically, since the player asking was a Viera, despite their question referring to both Viera and Hrothgar. It didn't follow through either way though, since neither race has gotten any race-specific hairstyle yet.

To be honest, I can see why you would think that... And now that I think about it, it would make sense considering Hrothgars poor structure design choice. But then again, even if Hrothgar were released as intended, why did SE severely underestimate the community's desire for glamour and hair changes? By Shadowbringers, you'd think they would know what their playerbase wanted by that point. Still, even if by slim chance Hrothgar were never intended to receive race-exclusive hairstyles, both Yoshi-P and the community representative had 3 years to correct us... Especially taking into account the numerous popular Viera and Hrothgar threads that enquired about these race-specific hairstyles, but they still chose to never address it.

It's all so weird, and I really just wish Yoshi would answer our questions sooner rather than later... Not go on another tangent how difficult Hrothgar's design is.

Because it's just an excuse.

There is 0 reason to be so nebulous about all this and then mumble out a bunch of reasons that don't make sense. They just didn't get the work done. Whether it was intentional, accidental or just a lack of people power/devs/money... who knows. All we do know is that we were given an excuse and the excuse wasn't even that good to begin with and now they're just outright refusing to elaborate.

Agreed. It was stated that it was a mistranslation, but the fact of the matter at any point in those 3 years, Yoshi or someone could have come forward and corrected it. It *STILL* isn't corrected. Some JP players also confirmed that he did indeed say that if I remember correctly, so the fact that hes trying to blame it on us for "misinterpreting" it is pretty telling. I do think you're right in thinking he actually forgot he said that or is misremembering the details.

We've had 5 statements on housing, we've had them clarifying that a dumb bug in Ultimate with DRG was fixed. All officially stated on Lodestone.

Yet to address a problem that a vast majority of the players of one race have asked them to address, alongside players from other races, best we got are miffed looks, disgruntled hand-waving excuses and the same excuse regurgitated by a community representative here in the forums. Excuses that have already been dismissed and proven false by the fanbase. We've asked for the bare minimum: acknowledgement. Transparency. But no, let's waste time with a bug we haven't fixed and rub it in everyone's faces by making a whole post on a DRG bug for content literally less than the number of Hrothgar in game play.

I mean, yeah. Housing problems and Ultimate glitches were bugs and unexpected issues after all, supposedly, on their part. At least, on the game side. They're both game-breaking issues.

The hrothgar hairstyles aren't a bug, and are that way by (bad) design. From their point of view, it's working as intended.

Still waiting on them to make a statement about them regardless, though. It's still a widely known problem.
