    Evasion jump - a step in the right direction?

    I love Dragoons evasion jump, the only problem i have with it is the long recast.

    because of the recast it isnt practical to rely on it to dodge every mob weapon skill which i think kind of defeats the object of the ability.

    I think ideally i would like to see attacks that we are supposed to dodge by simply moving our characters in the current system- evadable by abilities just like evasion jump.

    maybe these actions can make you move from one side of a mob to the other which would also make better use of the combo system which requires you to hit certain sides of a mob to proc the combo.

    besides looking down-right cool i think this would make gameplay alot more fun.

    I'd be up for having it reduced to say 5-10 minutes, but I really don't think it should be something you can almost practically spam. Kind of against the idea of abilities that help you avoid attacks really, evasion jump is hella cool I will admit. Allowing all the classes or even adding more evading abilities for classes I can't help feel would pull away from the immersion of the battle. I like having to read the enemies movements and having to act accordingly. Formulating strategies and having to know your enemy would be cheapened by abilities that do half the job for you. That's my opinion though.

    That's not what Evasive Jump is for. It's meant to be used to get enmity off a mob when you're in a dire situation, not to avoid WSs.

    It has TWO cases you can use it in, if you need to move back fast or lose enmity. The distance back is pretty far and can prove useful for some weapon skills of mobs if you don't have time to run.

    Oh absolutely... I mean it's basically Chameleon but with a much cooler animation AND the benefit of getting you out of the way. We need cooler and more situational skills to use, not just combos.

    If by step on the right direction you mean possibility for more abilities for DRG like this? Yes.

    for all close range melee (particularly Dragoon and monk)

    im all-for anything that will get more melee in partys instead of blm all the time

    I have a MNK friend who allways gets asked to go blm to everything even though he never wants to, and i never get to play my dragoon either.

    Just happened to me last night. Was DRG and we lost our fight, first comment: we need more BLM. I'm not complaining, I actually was sort of tired and it worked out, but come on, fights shouldn't need 3+ BLM -- or at least people shouldn't think they do. ; ;

    It's just because generally speaking it's easier for BLM to do massive damage right now... Not to mention they play nearly identical to their previous class.

    Give everyone some time to adapt and learn their jobs and you'll see way more DRGs and BRDs around. At least I hope.
