What's been going on is not only the content drought but the quality of the content itself. You may have missed the house lottery debacle and the hrothgar hair issue here on the forums recently. Not like many of us haven't been saying as such for years.

I don't think you know what a real content drought is. Try going 3 years without a single update in a game compared to only having to wait 4 months for consistent updates in this game.

I played SWTOR, they'd maybe have one content update a year and they didn't update PvP beyond huttball for several.

Yep, I stopped playing swtor after 5.0 and the great "thrill of the hunt" rng garbage.

Getting content quickly means nothing if it's over within the same week of release. Case in point, 6.1. If you aren't progging Ultimate. What longevity does this patch have? We have a 24 man with a weekly lockout you'll maybe spam for glamour, a single EX fight and several story/side quests which are all primarily one and done. Tataru's grand adventure could be the best questline made. It's still a finite piece of content that won't last more than an hour or two. Even at a gradual pace, you'll have 2-3 weeks of content and then... nothing else for the remaining three months.

And? Its still content, and a hell of a lot more than pretty much any other MMO out there. Its not the devs faults MMO players consume content at a stupid pace. You're expecting way too much from developers. Its amazing they can even do as much as they do in a 4 month time table.

That's the case for any game though.

I have the platinum in Elden ring. 96 hours. No new content.

Lost Ark, which just released, has people on its forums complaining about lack of communication in terms of patch releases, content droughts, etc.
