What is the most powerful moment of any FF title you've played?

I remember it well:

The year was 1990. I had been reading for months in Nintendo Power about this new game coming out in the summer. I saved my money and because I couldn't count on my local Babbage's to have it day one, I ordered over the phone for $75. It came shortly after the release date of July 12th, and when I first started Final Fantasy I on my NES, it was one of the most awesome gaming moments of my gaming life.
I played it morning, afternoon, evening, only stopping to sleep and eat - my parents thought there was something wrong with me. But it was an amazing journey at an amazing time when there was nothing like it available on any platform.

Both deaths of Aerith and Zack.
Ramza having to kill Zalbag

Moments of awe
Fighting Savior Sephiroth, and seeing Super Nova.
Vivi going nuts of the 3rd evil black mage.

Funny moments

Getting a date with Barret
Zidane "Adult comments" to Garnet

Most shocking final fantasy though was and still is 13 & 13-2. I am shocked how terrible it is in my opinion. Some Critics say it's the best of the series, yeah they need to be shot or burn in the lowest levels of hell because they are selling out.

Give ANY Final Fantasy 1-10 the same graphics as 13 and take away none of the storylines, change none of the battle sequences I bet you they would be better.

Beating Ultima Weapon in ff8 using very few turns, Zell's limit break allowed me to deal 400k damage to it after figuring out that two of his limit break attacks constantly alternate. It was awesome stuff ^^

There were plenty of awesome moments in 13 and 13-2 also, like when the crew in 13 comes back to cocoon and they fight their way through with their eidilons, beginning of 13-2, ending, etc

Well that would be in my favorite Final fantasy game of all time, FFX. That was the first and last Final Fantasy I played and actually grew a relationship with the characters.

The biggest moments to me was when I found out Tidus was part of a dream world and goes through an epic battle with Sin.

This is exactly what I was going to say! I like FFVII a lot, but FFX is the quintessential FF, in my opinion. It's the only FF in which I've bothered to get the ultimate weapons (three times), and I daresay it has the most cohesive plot. I'd have to add that when Yuna does the sending in Kilika, I get all torn up. Well, pretty much anytime they play the Hymn of the Fayth.

I would agree with you if the game somehow stopped at 99%; the plot leading to the ending was terrible and cheap, it left me with a sour taste in the mouth, took all the meaning out of what I had achieved in the previous 80 hours... Just my opinion obviously, I loved the rest of the game

A few mentions of some of my favourite moments in here already, but what the hell I'll mention them again anywhoo! :P

FFX - The ending where Tidus is fading away and Yuna tries to hug him, falls through him and starts to cry. I had a tear in my eye for that >.<

FFX - During the Al Bheds home being destroyed (what was that place called again? Mecha or something...) and Tidus discovers the unspoken tragedy that comes at the end of a summoners pilgrimage and he has that massive breakdown.

Squall getting pawned by a giant icicle, Kefka actually bringing about the end of the current world (I generally thought Id missed something and was heading for a game over screen). I've actually just realised how much I could actually write and for the sake of all your sanities I will end this post here. XD. The ff series I can safely say is the only gaming series I've ever truly got behind. Apart from XIII and XIII-2, they sucked >.>.

It's fun trying to keep a straight face while watching a live orchestra perform that piece while the scene plays on monitors over head ^^;
