    Absolutely not. The increase in surface area is in an exceptionally unhelpful place - surely you wouldn't support dragon's voice style tank aoes? After all they have a far greater area covered than regular circles.
    The change has been dire from the perspectives of both tanking and dpsing, as now not only am I actively encouraged to point half the mobs at the party, but I don't have a window where I can step out of the mob aoes and continue damaging to take pressure off the healer. As a DPS it is significantly harder to hit the mobs because there's incentive against the tank properly shepherding them. It is much harder to hit linear aoes with the more spread mob grouping, it is also harder to hit circle-on-target aoes when the mobs are here there and everywhere. A temporary solution to the circle-on-target aoes would be allowing DPS to target the tank with them, but that is a fix on the order of whatever it is they're doing to high jump/mirage dive.

    25π y² is not much bigger than 64π/3 y² either.

    It also no longer requires a target which is means that casting it is no longer guaranteed to hit anything.

    Hey, guys. Get this. We can learn from this and apply a solution also... to Dragoon's AoE combo. It definitely needs it, after all.

    See, at present, those AoE combos are about 5 yalms wide and 10 yalms long. They're rectangles, starting from the player.

    But get this, we can take half that range, and put it BEHIND us instead.

    If I've not sold you on my brilliance yet, give me just a moment more. See, we can also trim the corners (top-right, top-left, back-right, back-left) off and move them to the sides, where they give us more reach to things not less directly in front of us (or directly behind us, now, either). And then we can take the new corners and do the same to them!

    And if we do that enough times? We get, yep, a circle. And circles are inherently better, even if they cost you half your range.

    Yeah, but 5 yalms each way, instead of 30. Because AoEing 5-yalm radius 360 degree around you is ALWAYS more helpful than just AoEing a 10-by-5-yalm rectangle in front of you.

    This might sound weird, but I don't actually care what shape the AOE is. I'm going to land it regardless. The more obscure it is, the more my brain meats likes it.

    Okay so I care a little, but not in the way it seems.

    I just figure that if they were all going to hit everything regardless, so long as I didn't suddenly go blind several seconds of movement ago, and the old version had more range... then I'll keep the one with range, tyvm. As such, I'd rather not have had Overpower changed.

    You see mate. We have 4 different tank jobs. We had 2, now 3 jobs, that have a circle aoe. If i wanted to spin like a bayblade i could always play PLD or GNB. You know, tohave some little, just this thiny bit of difference between the jobs.
    Now only DRK has to position itself. Overpower didnt need fixing. It wasnt broken. Otherwise DRK otherwise flood of darkness would also get this treatment.....

    With how long it takes for the devs to change DRK sometimes. I am not shock of 6.2 or 7.0 flood changes into a circle toghter with dragoon line aoes.
