They also made Castrum Meridianum even more boring...
I'm of two minds on this.
Now that we don't get "paid" for killing trash I'm fine with reducing that slog. I'm really liking the new normalized tankbuster telegraph. Ok, sure, it makes some things really obvious but this is low level content and brings these instances much closer to the ideal that they're teaching mechanics. I'm liking the new tornado mechanics specifically because it's used quite a bit in later instances. I'm curious if and how some of the other interactable mechanics will be touched (Steps of Faith comes to mind).
OTOH this dungeon was usually the first wake-up call for tanks. You needed a bare minimum of gear just so the healer can keep up. Thankfully when I was that tank it was with a full FC run so we adjusted pull size and once out I promptly bought reasonable gear. Even more than Brayflox, Stone Vigil required a certain level of situational awareness because it was oh so easy to overpull and pathers could tip the balance from manageable to pucker factor.
Do you need to speak with a manager?Wait what? Seriously? People were already facerolling these instances before this expansion. and this will ultimately make players even less prepared for current content than they already are. This is exactly the kind of change that hastens overall dumbing down and homogenization across the board. I'm starting to get worried for the game's future.
I believe in Yoshida's "No subscription left behind" mentality! Also, EX and savage is a bit too tough, can we get rid of some problematic mechanics? :^)
Why? just leave the establishment and laugh when the new "regulars" drive it out of business.
Just delete the dungeons if your not gonna bother have us engage with the mechanics or have then not have any mechanics
New Stone Vigil has been putting all of the friends and extended family to sleep now. Second boss has overturned health and does absolutely nothing to damage party. Standing in the tornados tickles, the buster tickles. The last boss appears to spend even more time loafing about like the big fat dargon it is instead of casting.. anything really.
Know these serve as tutorial dungeons but when the tutorial is boring the sprouts it is meant to teach it miiiiight be time for fix.
The only blessing about this new Vigil is that it appears to end more quickly. You can also yeeeeet boy the entire first pull into the first boss room to feel alive again.
Last time one of the uncles was there he said he was going to begin calling it "Stoned Vigil" because that is what he must be to enjoy it.
Edit to reply!
This mechanic existed to teach sprouts about baited aoes early and that some were persistent. Now it is derp.
