You're assuming an awful lot there. What do you mean by toxic exactly? It's not really anecdotal tho, bad mentors don't get removed by SE or well very rarely. These mentors want the mount, they don't care for newbies and through the mentor roulette they get literally shuffled around in ALL the content the game has to offer which is accessible through the normal dutyfinder. This means everyday hundreds of toxic mentors get thrown around into random groups where they can spew their toxicity around and just so they can get the prius to their elitist crown. So it's more SE fault for allowing bad mentors to invade every dungeon and raid and everything else out there while they are only after the achievement and mount.
So for the achievement you need 2000 mentor roulette runs. That are 2000 potential encounters with bad mentors who are just there for the mount for each mentor and when a mentor does one of these roulettes a day they spend 6 years with this until they are finished. That is every bad mentor polluting the dutyfinder with their toxic presence for 6 years or well 2000 runs. And they are no experts, they don't want to help or know how to play. They leave ex trials as soon as they pop up, they go afk in dungeons and flame people for being too slow. And that for 2000 runs, for each mentor.

They should do what Black Desert Online does.
They have multiple "rooms" so people can go chat to whatever it's based on.
Pic inside the spoiler.

Outdated a bit but there's more. For the system, people "like" whatever posts if they're helpful enough and receive a little icon for it something like our Comm system.
We could have General Chat, Leveling, PvP, Crafters, etc.
The point is maybe if we had different rooms like that then people can hop in and we don't need "mentors"
anyone can help if they know and allowing chat all over the game.
We would probably see an uprising of aholes though so might need moderation.
Just throwing an idea.
I proudly wear my Burger King crown, but most shouldn't. Most players with it lack knowledge in how to play, or are just not good. Alot want it to have access to the novice network to have a general chat. However, most of this type are not great but are more than glad to hold sway over sprouts and turn nn into an erp nightmare ir a group therapy session. This types tend to not like actual mentoring with the gameplay system. In short mentors ruined mentors but not in the way commonly thought.

I truly do not think this is comparable in anyway to racism...

No because to think its comparable would mean you will now feel bad about bullying people online because they accepted a mentor crown as a symbol of willing to help people. All because some of those did not live up to the expectation. In my NN sprouts usually get their questions answered and occasionally land hands on help. Theres bad mentors too, but I would say thats not the majority.

If it is newer players it probably has more to do with they are used to doing that sort of stuff and havent really been penalized for acting as such. Now not saying there arent vetran players or mentors that can be like that too but again its a matter of they feel they can because they have gotten away with it.
Personally I pretty much run Mentor Roulette exclusively (and nothing else) on a daily basis because I actually like it. I get boring easily when doing regular roulettes, mainly because I know what to expect from them, however in Mentor Roulette you can get literally anything, and that (for me at least) is super exciting and I really like to help spouts. However I know unfortunately this is not the rule and a lot of mentors just don't care, which is a shame.

Idk what do you think? Ask around for a while and maybe you learn what "toxic" means.
If you want some personal experiences of mine. I had a mentor screaming at a sprout for not healing enough. I had mentors refusing to do anything in a trial (normal) cause we didn't do a pull timer. I had mentors on mass in Delubrum logging out at the start to just login again when people were killing the queen. I had mentors in the old castrum just leaving with their entire groups cause they wanted to do the one that gave 10 of the moogle tomes not the 7. I once had a mentor in a mount gulg run who explained to me that as a samurai i should only do single target damage and that it is my fault for getting aggro when i use aoes cause he as the tank wouldn't use aoes. Meanwhile the summoner in the background was literally having a mental breakdown cause half his kit is aoe based. I had two mentors in the first shadowbringers dungeon threatening to kick me cause i asked for them to roll on the loot cause i didn't wanted to get the gear twice at the end of the dungeon. I saw mentors early pulling every mob in existence especially in Eureka and Bozja.
And many many people have similar experiences and more. And these were just some examples and i have countless more and so does the rest of the community.

I have never bullied a mentor. I was just stating that an online title does not compare to actual racism. No because to think its comparable would mean you will now feel bad about bullying people online because they accepted a mentor crown as a symbol of willing to help people. All because some of those did not live up to the expectation. In my NN sprouts usually get their questions answered and occasionally land hands on help. Theres bad mentors too, but I would say thats the majority.
