what we have before whas pure trash and what we got is pure trash in a different way. the onlly good system there can ever be is one where ALL PLAYERS can get a house if they want. any thing but this is trash. and people like you is why we don't have it.So much hate is this topic, the lottery is still bugged sure. But its allready way better than what we had before, at least at full servers like mine. For the case some of you didnt get why. The current system has a few big bonuses in compare what we had before.
1. You dont need to camp 24h nonstop the placecard against other players and both
2. You can do something else while trying to get a plot
3. The old system also was a lottery just in a different way.
4. you have time to check out all availible plots and make a decision, no need for rush because you know when the lottery ends.
5. No more stupid system of buying a shity plot first just to relocate easier to the plow you want later.
6. Everyone has the same chance no matter if you are an unemployment who can play all day or someone with a life and work.
7. For the first time in years there are a lot of free plots on all wards on my server. Even in Mist in Shirogane are large Plots availible and you have a chance to get them. This was clearly not possible before the change.
Is it perfect? No, but every FC without a house has now a real chance to get one.

Sure that would be the ideal case, but this will not be possible in this game and it was the community owns fault when they asked at the very beginning what people want. You have to live with what you have and make the best out of it. Under the given circumstances the new system is a 100 times better than anything we had before.
its not possible as long as you and people like you will say so. when you start demanding it and just not use the bad system over all then it will start to change. the cornet system is as bad as what was before it. even after the bugs will be fixed, but as bad this team at making roulettes i don't think it ever be. as for live with what you have, the worst mentality you can eve have in life. if people was like this in the past we will still all be slaves to the aristocrats. demand equality when you pay for something. now if ff14 go F2P then it can be as you say. SE can do so much more in this game (they got the cash). but why will they when people constantly say " ye its not that good but i take it because yoshi P". never forget that SE are here for the money not to be your friend. even yoshi is the same.Sure that would be the ideal case, but this will not be possible in this game and it was the community owns fault when they asked at the very beginning what people want. Yep its true all of what you said, but you also have to face reality. Only a minority off all players use the forums, even if you and me are willing to stop using the current system there are still thousands of players of players out there who prefer using what we have instead of having nothing while hopeing for or a change. You also sayed it yourself, SE is a money oriented company and for this reason alone they will only invest as much necessary in this game, reworking the whole system and shitty code would require tons of resources and money (i guess it would be easily over 10 millions) therefore they will use what's already there as long as possible and only make some stupid band aid fixes which aren't so expensive. The housing issue is already know since years (maybe even since it was released) and it was a lot worse earlier. I also would prefer a solution where everyone could have the house he wants. But atleast they do something about it, even if its really really slow. Who knows maybe the new farming isles will be something like that. Than atleast it would make sense reserving the majority of all wards for FCs.its not possible as long as you and people like you will say so. when you start demanding it and just not use the bad system over all then it will start to change. the cornet system is as bad as what was before it. even after the bugs will be fixed, but as bad this team at making roulettes i don't think it ever be. as for live with what you have, the worst mentality you can eve have in life. if people was like this in the past we will still all be slaves to the aristocrats. demand equality when you pay for something. now if ff14 go F2P then it can be as you say. I think one thing to consider amidst all of this is that WoW doesn't have a player housing system at all. Now, this isn't a FF14 good WoW bad post, it's about the reality of the situation. As much money as everyone always likes to say that FF14 has access to, WoW has more. Many, many times more. They also had every reason in the world to try to implement some sort of housing in their next expansion pack given that they are in a position where they need to ensure as much continued player support as possible while bringing back as much lapsed interest as possible. But they didn't. Why? Because, essentially, it's too much work. Ion of Blizzard was actually asked this straight up in an interview that he did the other day and he confronted it head on. He said that it was something they want to do and that they recognize the player interest in, but they just don't have the resources to do it the way they want and and the way that would make players happy. It's not as simple as "Just do what the players want," especially when you have a system in place that already sort of works as they do in FF14.Yep its true all of what you said, but you also have to face reality. Oh, and I think another that does keep getting overlooked is that the lottery system was never intended to fix the housing system. The lottery is about trying to make access to the housing as fair as possible given that it's an acknowledged limited resource. No one ever said that the lottery system would fix housing so it would probably be for the best if people stopped conflating the two. Of course, the two issues are linked but they're not the same thing.
housing in games follows a few different plans: in LotrO (at first), you had to wait until someone left a house in a neighborhood or the devs opened up more servers/zones, in ESO houses are everywhere (they seem to be the lifeblood of the game), not only can you craft furniture but you can buy it from the store; you can actually set up your own pvp instance or interactive rooms and zones; in GW's the houses were amazing but only offered to the guilds for the purpose of PvP; in GW2 it's instanced and evolves with your character (it never interested me much); Aion's housing district was fun but just couldn't save the game; Rift had a spectacular housing system (I loved it); FFix's instanced housing (to me) was claustophobic. there are lots of housing systems, and I like the FFXIV one. I'm impatient, BUT whinging about not getting/winning a house right off the bat is a waste of time.
there are snippets of truth in each and every post, but none are the whole picture:the programmers made a boo-boo. now they are working hard to fix it for everybody. this is what they tell us; I hope they can do it.
