If they changed the rewards people will complain that they don't have access to the stuff people got from previous iterations of it, just like they do with all other events. At least this time the people who've done it in the past can skip it and those who haven't can have their piece of cake.

I don't think anyone wants them to outright swap the reward for something different. They have added rewards to collab events in the past. (DQX, Yo-Kai)

They could create another chapter to the story (or 2) and either have them back to back, or alternate them every other year.

so lets screw the older players that made it so you even have a game to be new in? how about not screw no one? have the old item and add new. as it stands now SE just being supper lazy. we getting less that f2p game get.
