New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

The irony is bleeding in this post.

A person who plays M. Viera, probably one of the most vocally requested races is saying something like this when Hrothgar were only asking for the basics that every other race gets (viera to a certain degree).

I can't tell if you're serious or not...

All people playing Viera/Hrothgar sit in the same boat. I‘ll make sure my disappointment about the Hrothgar situation gets heard.
I seriously don‘t understand how some people still don‘t understand the frustration of Hrothgar players, particularly people that play a race in a similar situation… (albeit not as bad as Hroth atm)

When was the last time Viera was FORCED to use a fantasia just to make a basic change to their character? When was the last time Viera had their ears chopped off to be given subpar hairstyles that look bad on the race?

oh wait, viera has never had to deal with either of those problems. they may be in the "same boat" as far as hats and helmets are concerned, but Viera as a whole have received far more attention and have been given quality hairstyles that don't remove a racial feature for the sake of streamlining the addition of hairstyles that literally no one asked for.

Viera and hrothgar players shouldn't be attacking eachother. They are in the same boat, and if you want to get technical, hrothgar actually do get more headgear than viera, but I digress. Viera haven't been given "quality" hairstyles, they have been given copy-paste hairstyles, that just look better due to their headshape. Ironically, the hrothgar 2b hair probably got more attention with it's Voldemort refit, than viera styles.

We are in a similar boat, only your situation is more severe - and everyone is well aware of it.

But just because the Hrothgar situation is worse, it does not mean you can disregard the fact that we were both brought in as restricted races who can't wear most headgear, and were unable to wear the in-game hairstyles for years.

The whole mentality of 'Viera vs the Hrothgar' is worn out. We're on the same side, we both should be aspiring for higher standards for the races we adore.

I know you are frustrated, since the situation for Hrothgar is obviously worse. But I still think we are in the same boat, since hardly any of the new hairstyles added are popular and poorly fitted to the races (albeit Hrothgar is still worse, but both are poorly done). Both races have been given promises, which have not been kept. We should support each other, since we can sympathize with each other.
If I ask for more hairstyles, I do so for both races.

On a serious note: It's rather mindboggling this is still this much an issue and the response from the devs was an eyeroll and a "FINE, but you're gonna have to be patient and wait for more than three hairstyles a year! It's very hard! Don't look at modders, shut up!". I feel for Hrothgars, I really do. I adore Lala's, but my next choice was Hroth when they released for the same reasons I always leaned towards Charrs in GW2. Though, and it's both sad and staggering to say, Charrs are far better treated than their Japanese counterparts here...

That analogy made me laugh! Well I must agree. My original point I was trying to make is that we are in this together and we should join forces and not envy the other. While Viera in fact are better of, both of the races deserve better quality! I also think Hrothgar have a higher prio at the moment with their ears literally cut off…

Honestly yeah. Like, I'm sorry to all of you Viera players, but saying "we're all in the same boat" just deletes all the problems that actually come in said boat.

Because that boat has a hierarchy. And we're not in the same levels. You guys get to walk around the top side, breathe fresh air. Hrothgars have to stay in the bottom, with a hole in the hull ready to burst and sink. You may think "If the ship sinks, we all sink". Yeah, but we sink first and our escape is blocked off. You guys at least get the chance to hop out to safety. . . . weird analogy, I know. Probably a bit more dramatic than it needs to be. Still, that is how it feels.

Keep in mind also that the dev team has been giving us the stink-eye for the past year. Viera... I'm sure they feel exhasperated, but they do try to be courteous toward you. Sure, still a kick in the teeth in the end, but they're at least being polite about it. They don't even bother with us.

And the community up until very recently forgot Hrothgars existed. I kept on shouting "We need Fantasias to change hairstyles", but no one listened. They only woke the hell up when this fiasco started. 3 years after we were both in game.

And as I mentioned before. In the communities I was in, and around these forums, I've never seen a Hrothgar beg for Female Hrothgar as hard as people begged for Male Viera. What I did see was people demand for their current races to be fixed before adding in new stuff and make more players feel bad. Guess who won out in the end. Not that we didn't want females, our whole lore is around Queens. But we didn't want people to experience what we were and are going through.

I personally will still support Vieras being finished. But please understand that no, the treatment has not been the same at all. And that saying "we're on the same boat " isn't helping us at all. You will be heard far quicker than we ever will. Keep that in mind.

I think the "same boat" has some merit that cannot be denied. Not for the effort disparity between you two, but the fact that such an obscenely powerful and successful MMO has no excuse for having any incomplete races, let alone 3 years after their release. I once again bring up GW2 and their Charr which are a strong deviation from some of their other humanoid races, yet are still able to be catered to like their counterparts. With a fraction of the success and budget and an equal age, one has to wonder: What's the excuse? Why does SE release not one, but two incomplete races? Why does neither seem to get adequate progress that puts them on the roadmap to completion? While it's undeniable Viera are getting more work done than Hroth, it's also pathetic the amount of time said work took. This is just sad. Both races will be complete a week before the game shutters at this rate.
