It would be a good opportunity for him to really see the quality of gear stretching that we get for most sets, the lack of customization, the hunch back, the clipping that already exists as proof that removing ears is just bad game design, the lack of helmets, how awful caster and healer dresses look on Hroths, and how awesome and kind other Hroths are despite all of this.

The Archfiend helmet getting ears specifically modeled for the Lalafell variant is telling and frustrating in light of everything else happening with limited races. I think the switch would do him good for a time.

Better yet, why not fully try out the New Game Plus mechanic as a Hrothgar healer?

Being able to better relate to concerned players aside, I would also be genuinely interested in seeing both his healing playstyle and Hrothgar characater customization; I can’t think of much of a downside to him at least giving Hrothgar healing a shot going forward if nothing else.

Hrothgar have been out for over two years now and are still getting done dirty. The earless hairdos are the improvements they have been waiting on? Oof.

If hrothgar is too much for him, he could play as a viera too since we share a lot of the same problems. Though admittedly you do have it worse since you have to pay real money to get your avatar's hair cut.

And I think just a month is being a bit generous since it might be one of those months where the in-game event doesn't have unwearable headgear.

Don't want an alternative. Viera just got 6+ new hairstyles, a new gender, had 8 times the choices on character creation?

Nope.
