Because there IS no point in forcing everyone into a broken system just for the purpose of keeping the system.

So much the better. Players shouldn't be blocked from having something just because X many other players also have it and an artificial limit is reached.

The point would be offering players a choice since currently they have none. Also even if they were to allow us to expand apartments into mansion. They wouldn't have all the same features and they would have downsides.

1. Lack of exterior which means no way to effectively garden. Apartment owners can't change the exterior of their apartment buildings
2. Currently no way to display retainers to sell items in an apartment. Huge disappointment for me when I found out.
3. Player choice. Currently players are locked out of buying *any* houses due to the broken lottery (as of Apr 18, 2022) and so literally no one can buy a house right now. Apartments are still very much for sale.

You're thinking too small. Open your eyes to the possibilities even if they seem unrealistic at first.
