It baffles me when I see the lengths certain individuals will go to defend this terrible system. This is coming from someone who had a large house at one point, and has lived in a medium for quite some time. I’ve seen it become increasingly difficult for someone to get a house with each bandaid “fix” added. This broken lottery is a salted cherry on top of a festered wound.
There is no excuse nowadays to not have a functioning housing system for all. Something so basic shouldn’t be premium. I see weak arguments such as, “It was originally designed for FCs only,” and blaming people wanting personal housing for the plight we are in today. Have they not considered that personal housing has such demand for a reason? When I play an MMO, I get surprised if there’s NO housing, lol.
It shouldn’t have to be stressful or anxiety inducing to get a plot. They’re always adding new housing items. But most of the population can only look in anguish as the chosen few get to truly enjoy what housing has to offer. This is definitely the one area of the game which lets it down. How is it harder to get a place in game than IRL? Lol.
Instanced housing IS the way forward. They can keep the wards that already exist for those who want neighbourhoods (which are mostly dead, might I add), and just create a system where everyone can have their own little plot of their chosen size. Have a little MB outside with some housing ward NPCs nearby, with the ability to have many people over to your place. Everyone’s happy. Those who don’t care about housing simply don’t have to make one.
