Bugs happen from time to time, in every game. But THIS bug is causing immense stress on the players who are affected by it. Just imagine you were the only one bidding on a plot and "lost" due to this bug. If you bit on the same plot again, you are maybe not alone anymore and another player wins the house which actually would have been yours without the bug.
Like I mentioned before.... bugs happen.. but this one is kinda unacceptable.

Me and another FC member bid on the same lot and we were the only ones bidding. We both lost cause the winning number is 0.
Even though we both already claimed our gil back, the placard still mentions that there were 2 participants. So the data should be there. Basically the devs have 4 days now to sort it out and assign a winner to those "winning number 0 - plots" before people would start to bid on these plots again.

It seems like Thursday's emergency maintenance is the cause of the commotion.

I haven't done a full survey, but I asked around people who won their plots, and they all placed their bids AFTER the maintenance.

We have #0 ticket as winner despite being 6 on the lottery. We bought it before the maintenance

Nope, I was no. 4 of 6 bids on mine, I put my bid in before maintenance, but the winner was 2, who would have placed their's before mine.

Seriously?! No one won! Everyone got the message that “The winning number is… 0. May you have better luck in the future!
But no one won the lottery?!?!

If you bid on a house alone(!) then there is only a 50% chance to get it: your number and 0. If two players bid on the house then there is a chance by 33,3333% to get it and not 50%. It is a really silly bug. And those bugs would surely be discovered when the devs would test it.

The other possible explanation is, this is not a bug but intention.

Oh no..I didn't take any screenshot and also claimed my refund thinking I already lost...though I am scratching my head who is number 0. Clicking on the lottery results and it said got 0 participants. And then now hearing that this may be a bug. If 0 means the first bidder then it should have been me....*sigh*

Submitted a bug report, but I am not sure how they going to deal with this. If there is actually chance for no one to win, it never got mentioned anywhere, and why would they do that and grief the players ????

It is unacceptable, but there's also nothing they can do about it. Players have won and build on their plots. The plots that were lost to this bug are still available to rebid on next cycle.
All they can do it fix the lottery system in time for the next cycle in 9 days.

Hey, where are the usual RMT apologists / hangers on and infinite wisdom defenders of these practices when they got proven completely wrong once again ? Predicting every bit of this in threads that got moderated / disappeared by talking about this in specific details and how it was going to be exploited and abused... Like, 2 / 3 months before it went live heh ? Nowhere to be seen in these "gotcha" moments, right ?

I also have a few acquaintaces that lost their bid being alone on these plots, not like i didn't warn them that this system was partly if not mostly made for house resellers.

No i know people who entered the minute the bidding started and they won the plot. Log in queues are ridiculous right now.

Only Crystal has login queues, Aether was fine.

Just chiming in as another person victim of this bug or whatever the heck is going on. I was bid #2 or #3 on the plot, ended up with a total of #6 but our winning draw was #0 too, so nobody won. I don't know how they're going to fix this and if their answer is just "oops, try again next time" I'm even more doubtful I'll get one. I just wanted a housing plot, I haven't had one since early HW and it's so frustrating trying to get one. Just add more wards as they are needed like LOTRO did so many years ago.

I won my large FC plot, I placed my bid on patch day in the evening after mulling over whether or not to wait (glad I didn't). That said, I did see that one other large house on my ward had bids too on day 1 and it has the "no participants" bug but not the "winner 0" bug. If it helps for gathering info, there you go.

Not true. Games roll back all the time for bugs. Especially this bad of a bug. And then start from the roll back.
