Dreamfitting could be so much better

As it is now, there isn't any difference from trying out any other piece of gear. It's just the good old fitting room UI.

It doesn't make sense why we have to "dream" to do that (other than being a really nice idea), as we could just ask someone to link the gear in chat and try it on.

Here's my idea: an actual dream place, instanced, where you can try them on in-game. In a way you can walk around in them, check it out in different lighting, etc. In the pixies tribe quests we had an instanced dream world similar to this (but without the glamour thing), and I think the same concept could apply for this occasion. Seeing it in the world is so much different, as you can check it from every angle, lighting, emote, animation, running, walking, sitting.

The same UI menu could still be used for quick try-ons, but it could just have a button saying "dream of this outfit" that would take your character into this dream place, wearing said outfit. This would be similar to those MSQ solo duty instances where you play with a scion or other character.

Anyway, I hope I'm not being too unrealistic with this, as all of these features are already somewhat in the game, but in different forms and purposes, and would just need to be recombined for this.

At least people can preview the stuff now.
And going way and beyond just for a way to preview stuff doesn't feel reasonable imo.
Just be happy that people got what they asked for, which is the option to preview cash-shop items.

Cuz Yoshi-P hates presence of cash shop in his game. He makes it clear that he doesn't wants this feature, but perhaps there was some sort of compromise he has to make with Tataru, I mean, the empress of the cash shop.

I always considered the fitting room and even character creation preview to be so bad, because they're terrible at reflecting what things look like in reality, hence why I proposed this idea, as it could be used even for trying out looks before fantasia'ing and things like that, since creating a new character doesn't always reflect hairstyles you have unlocked.

But I guess it is what it is.

I thought the "not having to ask someone to link the gear in chat" was the point of the feature? I appreciate being able to systematically try on every piece and not having to call out to other people for a whole list of things.

Also it's not quite the "good old" fitting room UI. There's some kind of new trickery going on with applying the entire outfit to your character as you browse to it in the menu, and it works independently of your standard "try on" function and whatever gear items you've currently got saved to that UI display.

My main issue would be that you can't run an /isearch while you're in there, and also that I would like to see it expanded to cover in-game items as well as the cash shop.

I remember there are a few FFXIV web model viewers out there that can serve the same purpose. Not really convenient, but it works. It has store outfits last time I checked.
