I've never taken part in ranked pvp matches. This new mode is my first time. When I watch some guides on youtube a while back I heard bad things about feast and how people cheat using some kind of program to help alert the pvper of what skill is coming or whatever. Also how they throw matches for people so I never really ventured out of frontline. Today-like most people I'm enjoying CC until I came across this healer in one of my matches.

As the match started we fought and it felt just like any other match-there was a tug a war. As soon as my LB came up I focused on the white mage. I cloaked. Now at this point we were losing ground and they had 4 people moving with the crystal. They had the advantage. I ran around to get the potion. We had a tank trying to stop the crystal from moving. I had LB and I was planning to use it on the white mage. So I cloaked...I rushed towards her...she was in the back. Far away from harm. HP at 100%. She popped guard when I used my LB. Okay, nice reaction. I didn't think much of it. Either her reaction is crazy good or it's just a coincidence that she popped guard during the best time EVEN THOUGH she shouldn't be able to see that ANYONE was around her other than our tank who was being molested from all sides. I wouldn't be able to hurt her much anyways since her HP isn't even below 50%-oh well reinforcement came and the back and forth continue.

Another moment passed by. We were gaining ground..I had my LB up again. This time her team wasn't moving the crystal because we were in a deadlock and still she was in the back. I cloaked. I rushed towards her. Guard came back up, AGAIN! Right on time. SHE HAD around 80% too. HOW THE HELL??!! So this happened to me two times! The first one I can see that it's a coincidence. The 2nd time? No. I DON'T BELIEVE IT. I don't think it's her reaction or luck. You ask yourself..would you use one of your kits randomly when you're not being pressured? Thats 30 seconds man per pop! I-NO-NO ONE, no one would ever pop a guard or purify unless they're being heavily focused or was CCed. EVERYONE is the same. That match was a really weird match and if there is a program or tool that helps players like this..man..they're like those easy mode isekai characters. It's gonna be an uphill battle for us. Still a fun match though lmao!!!

Ah yes, PvP. If you lose a skirmish it's not a mistake on your end - obviously the enemy was cheating.

Chances are they saw you coming and had their shield ready to be used at a moment's notice. Also, if you had already attempted it once and were attempting it again...well, your poker face needs some improvement. PvP is as much about smarts as it is about raw damage and CC. Timing is everything when it comes to certain abilities. Just gotta learn how things work is all. This isn't my first rodeo with escort PvP. Did my fair share of it in WoW, so some things just come more naturally to me I guess. I'm still learning what all I can or can't do though in this mode. Gotta test one's limits to know where the lines are, then go from there.

This is the best information I received. I seriously did not know this at all. Like I said I don't do ranking pvp-I've only done frontline so I'm unfamiliar with the UI. Back then I'd be able to use cloak, then trick attack, ill wind and then use LB but depending on how much hp the healer has before I marked them I'd use ill wind later and follow it up with an LB. It worked most of the time. The dynamic was different compared to the skill revamp now. I never knew this. What is the point of cloaking if they can still friggin know if you're in the area? The whole point was to disappear and go unnoticed.... Now this is just an escaping skill rather than an assassination skill against good players. This caught me by surprise because it worked against players in my other matches thats why I thought something was up.

Thanks. Some people are so ignorant that they assume that people have never lost a match and that this process is new to them. If spelling out obvious things like losing and winning in pvp is a normal occurrence to everyone then more power to their dimness.

It's real, and these types of cheats have been around and in wide use for a very long time. They originated from the game mode that predated CC. Win-trading also continues to be a problem; People will queue at the same time as an alt account at odd hours of the night, and afk on their dedicated sandbag character to guarantee a win. There have been people who have climbed into the top 5 using this technique.

Honestly, PvP has always kind of been a tacked-on joke in this game and I see a lot of people getting frustrated when they try to take it seriously. When I want to PvP, I just go play a different game.

Considering that there are actual cheats, one of which is - in fact - Guard auto usage when a LB is used on you, it's not a hard stretch to wonder. I don't know how fast NIN LB comes out, though most Guarding against the faster LB's is mostly just an educated guess since you're not reacting to something even close to fast with how this game works.

But, there's definitely a difference between: "Samurai Limit Break is overpowered because it killed me" complaints, and "this seems kind of fishy, is something up?"
