I mean, I frequently run 24-man raids as a healer for this very thing. It makes me feel alive.Going through these comments and everyone poo pooing healers seem to think it's about difficulty? That's really just something that exacerbates the already present problem: being a healer is boring. It only gets less boring when everything goes wrong, which hey. I don't think any of us want to be wishing for.

Gosh getting 70 or 80 raids in roulettes are a dream. I keep meaning to just skip the roulette and select only the ones I can work my brain in, but it feels so odd to me, idk.

If i wanted to only heal, I'd play another game - although actually I wouldn't, come to think of it, because even in other games i had skill trees or similar options so I could run hybrid spec, healing spec, or DPS spec anytime I wanted to . I used to have interesting options to heal and DPS in this game, I'd like that back. I do believe that some change is possible in that direction.God, I don't even care about DPS options being bland. I just want to heal, and I'd prefer to not feel like a useless afterthought while doing it. I am just on standby in case everyone messes up, but that doesn't happen often and now tanks can just kinda... take care of it. It feels bad. Feels worse being brushed off so dismissively.
If they genuinely don't care about that though then yes I think some extra options during our times filling the part-time dps role would be nice.

Honestly, I agree, I just feel like fixing the problem of not even needing to heal would do a lot of good. DPSing in downtime is actually a blessing, provided it's not a repetitive slog. Just anything to make it more engaging rather than hitting dosis until everything goes wrong. If it ever does.
edit: what i'm saying is i spoke in generalization and perhaps too sweeping of one

The problem is not either not healing or not dpsing.
Because BOTH of these options are bland and uninteresting right now. We don't have anything to heal, hence we need to DPS. But hey we only have 2 DPS buttons.
The fact they added EVEN MORE heals to PLD baffles me. Is basically acknowledging they want parties/tanks not to rely on healers.
And also the fact they didn't even touched upon the ridiculous WAR healing...

I'm genuinely concerned about whatever major revamp AST is about to get... have a bad feeling they're about to pull a SAM moment and take away the few flavor heals we have to reduce buttons instead of doing something like combing the play buttons... ugh..

If they want to keep burning AST bridges, my vote is to remove the class.
Half of it has already been deleted (time magic, card diversity, nocturnal sect) may as well get rid of the other half at this point.
I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

I tend to agree here yes. Wild that nothing was done about WAR and if anything they just confirmed it's here to stay by giving PLD that stuff. The problem is not either not healing or not dpsing.

I've started focusing solely on RDM and even within this single day I already feel more appreciated and able to do stuff. Guess it's less stress to DPS, so goodbye healer~ Oh well.

I mean... I only heal during 24-man raids because of this and honestly this expansion I might just drop healing completely.Going through these comments and everyone poo pooing healers seem to think it's about difficulty? That's really just something that exacerbates the already present problem: being a healer is boring. It only gets less boring when everything goes wrong, which hey. I don't think any of us want to be wishing for.
Now Unrelated to Bingle:
I'm tired of waiting for them to make healers engaging again and i find it particularly frustrating that when asked about addressing how boring healers are Yoshi P took it as it being a difficulty issue. I'm just... fed up.
Some people here seem really happy with the healer tweaks this patch and for me it was "meh" at best. I don't understand how people here have claimed that it's huge a step in the right direction. IMO it's a miniscule step in the right direction (especially when talking about WHM). It's a "too little, too late" kind of thing for me.

When they put Moogle Tomes on raids like Dun Scaith and Orbonne is the best time to try and get them to pop. I love those raids, and I’d do anything to see the latter restored to its former glory. The stat squish actually made some things in Dun Scaith hit a lot harder, so I had a lot of fun running it on healers during the last event. Tower at Paradigm’s Breach is my favorite of the Nier ones, personally. Red Girl is what makes it so much fun. Well, and Her Inflorescence when people get knocked off the platform by the trains or the pillar knock backs.
By far the most fun I have on a healer is Day 1 of a new 24-man. I spammed the new one all day yesterday basically, and it was so much fun going into damage control. Especially during the second boss! It just sucks that so much of my engagement on healer relies on
1. New content where people have no idea what the mechanics are
2. Hefty stacks of People Debuff
3. Or people just acting like complete clowns.
