Request: Expand apartments to be upgradeable in size and amenities

Apartments need a huge overhaul-

But their item limit sizes need to match current house sizes
So a small apartment- 200 items
Medium- 300
Large- 400

A Small could have an extra floor/ room
Medium 2 rooms
Large 3 rooms

I like this idea, too. My initial thought was that apartments could be the same size as houses, but I like it better if they were initially smaller and for an extra fee you could upgrade them to be like a small house. Initially less up front so you can just get the living space and get started, but by the time you have upgraded to a penthouse, you essentially have a large house instanced in the apartments network.

There would be no point to housing if apartments could be bigger, hold more items and have no timer. These are silly suggestions. Im all for increasing item count across the board, but logistically they can't just "make apartments bigger than mansions."

Why? Why does housing NEED to be this artificially scarce and obtuse for players to use. We are all paying the same amount of money for our sub so why is it that if I don't either A.) Sit in front of a placard and click at the speed of a bot to MAYBE get a house OR B.) Somehow win this miniscule dice roll in a week ontop of the miniscule amount of Private Houses available otherwise I can't access this feature of the game. Not " I didn't put in enough time to grind and do X content" or " I didnt have enough skill to do Y". The past and current housing system is booty cheeks and there is no denying that.

I agree that now the housing team needs to focus on apartments. If adding more wards is an issue make apartments better. I say this as a house owner. I’d love more than two flowerpots for my alt to grow things in. Even making the room bigger would help a lot.

I would love bigger apartments with more amenities. Totally willing to spend extra gil for them, too!

...Those are really pricy. Especially for a small apartment which I have right now, and there is no way I'd pay something like that for bare minimum.

I'd say if it included a top or bottom floor, sure- but at the pitiful size it's at now- hell to the no; especially since you'd be paying 1mil gil to for 100 item slots which fills up really fast if you want even a mildly interesting build.


I'd say the current price now + an additional 300k for each added room/square space which also includes 50-100 extra item slots per room/space.

I'm all for bigger apartments, but at a reasonable price considering they have no yard and no top/bottom floors.

I fully agree here. Make apartments upgradeable, up to medium (or even large) size house interior. Then expand this system to small and medium houses, i.e. allow their interior to be upgraded, and probably nearly everyone would be happy, as everyone has the same chance at getting a large interior home.

If I could expand my apartment and have a larger inventory of furniture, I would not even take a second glance at housing anymore. Especially since there is always a market board just outside of every apartment building. My biggest beef with apartments right now is that they are so claustrophobic in design and require a lot of glitching to get any kind of expanded amount of living space at all. The need for glitching to get this additional space should be in and of itself a warning that the present system is incredibly flawed.

The biggest thing this would need is a higher item placement limit and a floor above or below.
