Why do FCs get 75% of the wards?

Characters who fulfill the requirements below are eligible to submit one lottery entry per lottery period.

Entering as a Private Buyer:
1. You must have at least one class at level 50.
2. You must hold the rank of second lieutenant or above in one of the Grand Companies.

Entering as a Free Company Representative:
1. Your free company must be rank 6 or above.
2. Your free company must have four or more members.
3. You must be authorized by your free company to purchase and relinquish land.
4. You must have been a member of your free company for 30 days or longer.(*)
* This is a new requirement introduced in Patch 6.1, in order to preserve the integrity of the lottery system.

There is some barrier to entry here, so we'll see how many gets pumped out.

FC's need a place to hang out. My FC goes through great effort to decorate our house well and use it for just about every event we run. We chill there, we group up before raid there, we run fashion competitions there etc. etc. It's essential to our community and having moved to OCE servers it has been a sorely missed while we wait for them to be re-released. However, it was extremely challenging to get a house (especially a medium, forget large) having to compete with so many individuals. An FC house serves many players while a player house usually just serves one. In fact many of my FC mates don't even want their own house because we have the FC house.

So logically it makes 10,000% sense that there should be more FC houses. If you don't understand this then you are either just too selfish or have never experienced a good FC.

If your FC house decoration sucks then maybe talk to your FC leader and offer to help decorate it. Be the change you want to see.

OCE needs the % flipped on every server, 6 wards for FC, 18 for Private.

It doesn't but SE have implemented the same system world wide. The nice thing is most of those plots won't go in patch 6.1, so when SE do adjust world to world like they promised, they will become available.

Take anything you can get now and then try for a perfect plot at the next patch. If you miss out this time, hold out hope for the next patch release It's something we get on Materia that the other DCs won't get. Extra grade 1 and 2 housing in the coming months.

18 wards are only 1080 houses.

One ward has 30 houses normal and 30 houses extended. Makes with 18 wards 1080 houses

18 wards, 60 houses per ward, 5 empty cities as all servers on Materia are new and have not had any housing until 6.1.

18*60*5 = 5400

Since houses will always stay as limited assets and primarily ought to exist as hangout places, putting focus on FCs is logical with those ideas in mind.
If whole wards were full of Thav Onion farms and storage units, it would make the whole shared neighborhood idea moot wouldn't it?
Now whether people actually hang out at wards is a different question, but you make the game in the form you desire rather than into what it is.

Except that FCs already have a decent shot at getting a house due to being able to submit multiple bids of they have enough members, which in itself is a natural deterrent against she'll FCs/RMT flippers.

To have such an uneven allocation for FCs mean that shell FCs and RMT flippers have a free run at the new housing plots while players hunting for a personal estate since forever are given a proverbial slap on their faces yet again.

This is even more evident when personal houses are non-transferable unlike FC houses, meaning that they are more likely to get actual usage compared to shell FCs/hoarders who just run submarine farms or RMT flippers who flip for profits.

An absolute shame this is.

Hopefully the Island Sanctuary will have a house on it and this whole thing will be rendered mostly irrelevant.

What upsets me the most is we all worked to rebuild the firmament for over two years and was promised housing in 6.1 for over 18 months. We all ASSUMED there would be plenty of housing for personal use!!

Not once did SE ask us for suggestions, ask to take a poll, or say anything about a 75% split for FCs and then they waited on patch morning to release these details….why? Didn’t SE think it was worth the players time to know in advance on how the personal housing got screwed over?

Honestly, you changed most of the 2.0 dungeons and up with content for solo players and you turn around and now you want people to join an FC for a house that usually only the owner and maybe 2-3 officers will ever use anything else all the good stuff.

Sorry to say, but SE is starting to feel like the WoW develops.

PS: The only way to fix this is mess at this point is too add more wards up to 36 wards then you will have 50% FCs and 50% personal housing split. Anything less than that, it might be time to move on from FF14 for me.
