Is it that bad? sighhhhhDid you miss the ~100 FC's on the lodestone page that were level 25 FC Leaders with rank 6 FC's all named "adasdfg" and similar, all second lieutenant with Twin Adder.
They were ranked 42-150ish on the lodestones weekly FC contributions
It seems the support team has taken care of the farming bots, but the housing ones are still there.

I wish instead of people saying, " get off the sinking ship." I wish they could say, " let's go help them save OCE."

The queue is shared across the entire DC, so it's not indicative of Ravana.
It also isn't an indication of the current logged in player count, it's just the amount of players logging into the DC at the same time, so they can regulate the flow of characters connecting in.
Agreed. Which is why I'm hoping these threads will provide enough feedback to SE that they'd consider opening cross region for OCE. I believe players would have been more comfortable moving in the first place if we knew we could still do content with our international friends weve shared since the game launched. Especially in terms of end game savage and ultimates.
People are basically selfish. They're not going to help unless they get some benefit out of the arrangement.
Many OCE players stayed on NA because of houses, statics and friends. Lack of houses in personal wards rules out those that were waiting until they can get a house. Lack of regional data center travel rules out those who want to keep playing with their friends and statics.
How do you get them to help when it means leaving behind the things that had been meaningful to them and nothing in return over a chance for improved ping (which a lot of players don't actually care about because it doesn't severely impact their style of game play).
Are you certain about that? Log in queues on Coeurl most definitely are not shared with Balmung even though we're on the same data center. Start of expansion I was getting into the game within 15 minutes while Balmung friends would be stuck in queue 3-4 hours. The queue is shared across the entire DC, so it's not indicative of Ravana.

But that has the potential to backfire if all the movement is from OCE to NA/EU, and none from NA/EU to OCE (other than players returning briefly to their home worlds).Agreed. The goal should be to make Materia an active data center, not pushing the population back to other data centers.

That's when the servers actually are at max capacity. That'll never happen on any of the OCE worlds currently with the population of Ravana being a 3rd of the NA ones.People are basically selfish. They're not going to help unless they get some benefit out of the arrangement.

I guess it's what you're used to. As someone who only really started when the OCE servers were released, I've been loving it. Now granted I brought 11 of my friends as new players with me so obviously that helps massively. But the experience in general has been great. Sure when I've done some of dungeons/trials solo I've had to wait a bit for it to pop, but it's generally on average been around 10 minute wait as DPS. Only time I've ever had to wait nearly 30 minutes was once and it was way outside peak hours.
I do wonder how many more on OCE are like us, new players who aren't as visible yet to the max level transfers and thus exacerbating the perceived problem of not enough people. Given how much content there is in this game, the majority of us in our 'new' FC are still just finishing Heavensward.
I remember many years ago (like during Wrath) on WoW on a very low pop server/battlegroup waiting nearly 4 hours for a DPS queue. the 10-30 minutes I have on OCE just doesn't feel like a big deal to me.I guess it's what you're used to. I believe this data center needs some time to grow? Its just a sprout, be patient with it; just as all players need to be patient with sprouts.
Having so many people say, "We knew it would be dead so we didn't transfer", just perpetuate a self fulfilling prophecy, and they have the ignorance to say, "oh look at me, I was right!". Give me a break, you can't take credit for a prediction if you are part of the reason the prediction came true.
Personally I'm having a great time on OCE with low ping. Brought all the people I need with me and we are having a ball. I recommend for those that struggle to get through queues, join an active FC and ask for help like the days before auto queues were a thing in MMOs. Can be quite social and fun. I've even seen group runs being organized through the OCE FFXIV Facebook group and discords. The people are there, but there's just too many duties in FFXIV to be randomly grouped with enough players from our budding DC.
I also very much agree with Gember, the DC needs time to grow.
