If people in-game are as incessantly negative as those on the forum then I tend to agree. For all the talk of a positive community the general forums certainly tell a different story that could push introverts to solo play.

What the heck is incorrect gameplay???
I bought the game, I play it how I like. I am not obligated to play grouped, and I do not subscribe to hive mentality.
Incorrect gameplay sounded freakishly like some Orwellian nightmare.

is one. You are welcome.

I love my community. They are my online fam. They are amazing people. Grouped can be a lot of fun. All I am saying is that I am happy they made it possible for those who wished to solo, such as me in middle of night when most are asleep.
I am a nighthawk yanno. ;b
The game doesn't need to be dumbed down to be solo friendly, it already was.
Wtf is even the point of playing optimally if all you care about is solo, why should those of us who want to do the harder endgame content have to suffer and get a more boring game as a result?
It's just so stupid...

Curious...did you actually read my post before you replied? The game doesn't need to be dumbed down to be solo friendly, it already was.

If you did I think that you missed my point. I never said all I care about is solo. I said it is NICE that soloers can enjoy the game as well.
Okay?
You always could.
You're being extremely ridiculous too, you don't need to be some no-life weirdo as you're implying to clear the content in this game.
The problem people are having with the changes are that the game is being dumbed down to cater to people who don't actually matter in regards to playing properly.
Why does it matter if you don't want to bother to learn the Job mechanics and your rotation etc?
You can still do the MSQ regardless.
Why should players who do care and do want more of a challenge have what they enjoy removed just so that you can do the same numbers with less effort?
I dunno what else you're getting at with this thread especially with the discussions going on and how you're talking about it.
What does this have to do with MMO's?
The majority of people don't play MMO's this has nothing to do with the people who do and the playerbase of FFXIV.
Edit: and yes I did read your comment, it's kinda bizarre seeing you acting all nice after having read it because you were being extremely antagonistic and judgemental in your OP.

I think the solo thing is good, as long there is plenty of content for actual groups. Why even make an MMORPG if its not for actual "Human" groups, and tout it as such, right ?
Anyways, I try and look at the positives, in my case it gives me a chance to try a new job and learn my skills without the hassle of social boo hoos (kicking and such). Therefore when I feel comfortable in my new job I will be ready to try it with a "real" group for example. After all, I dont remember paying a monthly subscription to play FFVII and FFXIV "IS" an MMORPG right ? I'm here to make friends and have a ton a funRock On!!!
Edit: I haven't tried the Trust System on my Pally yet![]()

To be able to choose between group or solo play is the mark of a high quality game.

I agree, I think the new content is going to be good and helpful for someone who doesn't want to risk getting yelled at by strangers. Shyness can be very difficult to overcome.
However, the NPCs are always going to be weaker than real players, and that's the trade offs. If anything, it means that the person is going to have to do better in some respects, since dying with a Trust means you start the fight over. If you screw up and die, you can't get carried - you have to start over until eventually you learn to do it right.
