New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

So if they're like "this is really hard to make" why did they recant on the statement of Hrothgar getting racial specific hairstyles then? Same goes for viera? Like...you released new hairs almost ever major patch while v/h were still begging for hairstyles to actually make our characters look unique from one another :/

3 years to get it together and you still couldn't do that......these are just riddled with excuses like....ugh. yes, I'm glad we got new hairs, but not happy at it with the cost of my ears :T. It also doesn't look like this was something that was well thought out anyway is the problem. It looks like it was all haphazardly thrown together....

Like I said many a time on these OFs, what they said back then was under the notion that they would not make the other genders and stay the course. It took until around 6 months post ShB release for the team to find all the corners they could cut to present their case for how they would be able to take on making Male Viera and Female Hrothgar come about. THAT'S a pretty major thing, and it always blew my mind that people would simply never expect some downside to them adding new genders and races. How many hairstyles could they have made if they didn't make Male Viera?

Hrothgar were supposed to be CC hair head locked having dudes who would get new faces at some point so that they could do the whole beast man thing, Viera were supposed to have their own unique hair instead of shared hair. It's 100% possible that they felt that they could make some new Viera hair and some new Hroth faces and carry on doing business as usual. But doing unique hair for Female Viera and unique hair for Male Viera and unique new heads for both Male and Female Hrothgar AND hearing people who play BOTH these races b-n-m from the start or ShB about not getting shared hair AND having to pay $10 to just change their hair AS they still make shared hair for normal races at a Snell's pace?

Yeah, that might be seen as too much, and it would logically make more sense to make shared hair work on these races that keep asking for it now that they have 2 sexes and will likely get 2X the request for it.
Like, I even get where YP is coming from. The ears thing doesn't bother me at all, as someone who wants to play female Hrothgar (provided they look good to me) I'm happy to see that they want Hrothgar to get shared hair because I get to keep my fav styles and I get to look forward to content rewards. That was always the argument for why they should give these races shared hair ... sadly Female Hrothgar aren't in the game yet so all you see is Hrothgar getting mix gendered hairs without their being people out there with female characters who can go "yay, 2B hair!" and offer their feedback.

At the VERY LEAST, I hope they build Female Hrothgar in a manner where this isn't a problem. Because they will absolutely see a wave of bitching if female Hrothgar can't get shared hair beyond the 6 they give to male Hrothgar today or w/e when they finally come out.

You could argue that is somewhat justified for hrothgar since they have their own distinct head shape that doesn't mesh well with humanoid hair and as such most shared hair would look horrible on them ( and it does. ) but literally nothing is unique about viera hairs any more than exclusive miqote ones.

So I don't get the whole "oh but viera hairs are unique and cool so we should just suck it up and not have hats." Like they literally had no reason to do a half-assed job with the hairs and release them in an unfinished state without deforms that literally every SINGLE hair that exists for any race other than viera and hrotghar has.

The ears are not an issue, they can be toggled off if necessary ( wizard hats and such ), and even then we have headgear equipment on LIVE servers that clips anyway ( shadowless gear ), so if their standard is that they could just let it clip through for most that don't look terrible. That is not an argument for not finishing hairs.

When did anyone ask for Viera to be a gimped race? Thank god they did not implement their feet, because god knows we would end up like WoW trolls.

Side note: Hrotghar players only asked to not have to fund Fantasia singlehandledly because their race was badly implemented. They sure didn't want to get their ears cut off. Nobody held them at gunpoint saying add 2B's hair, they could've just as easily added the hrothgar exclusive hairs they... "wanted."
