you make 3 buttons. Here is why there’s PVP combos in PVE and why there shouldn’t be: branching combos. How would they implement that into one button? Like what would happen to monk for instance where you sometimes have to choose between twin snakes and true strike or demolish and snap punch?
One for each stickers. And that'd free up 3 slots. Removing bloat without taking out kaiten and changing the rotation.
and for the moving your fingers, you do realize you still have to weave right.

Doing PVP combos would have to be a systemic change across all jobs. It could work on Sam but on jobs like monk and ninja it would be a problem. Also what if you accidentally start the shifu combo when you need the jinpu combo seal? Would you be locked into the combo and have to start the other one from hakaze. Not sure how this would be implemented in a way that isn’t awkward. There’s also a reason why red mage’s melee combo wasn’t consolidated like GNB’s cartridge combo: the mana costs being different on each button make it so that one combo button wouldn’t work at lower levels.
That is why I am hoping for the Aion combo system. You can make multiple combos depending on which set of 3 button combos you want to execute. It is such an easy thing to allow, but doubt they will do it because they would lose control over dumbing down the game until we are left with one button on every class. You could literally make it so you 3 combos or 3 buttons that went into each Sam seal and that would reduce the 6 buttons into 3 buttons. When I use my xbox controller on pc it would make having less cross hotbars needing to be swapped to.Doing PVP combos would have to be a systemic change across all jobs. The devs could also set it up similarly where you can't make random combos that make zero sense just to troll. It was only for their 1 2 3 and varients of it or the heals that combo'd into each other. You couldn't just make random combos that were a miss match of any skill just the ones that already combo'd into each other consolidating them into one button instead of them lighting up on your hotbar and all being there as they are in ff. Though we kind of have this option with macros already so the code is kind of already there. It would just need to be polished and given its own menu with empty squares and you just put the skills in your actions menu in an order and than put the first part onto your hotbar.

Of course some will be easier to implement than others. That will be their problem to solve.Doing PVP combos would have to be a systemic change across all jobs. I'm just using the easiest ones and most obvious ones for example xD
Starting a wrong combo, I would just treat like if I pressed shifu before hitting hakaze because I messed up. I start over.
Awkward? As awkward as messing up a rotation I guess. As it should be, you did make a mistake after all.
