When thinking about the 'new' hrothgar hairstyles, I cant help but think of this slide that YoshiP presented in 2014 on why the original FF14 (patch 1.0) had failed in a certain conference, and what they had learned. I think it was sometime after the implementation of A Realm Reborn (2.0)
Points 1 and 3 seem heavily contradicted upon with the reveal of these hairstyles. The overall reaction from the fans has been
overwhelmingly negative. Not just from hrothgar players either; many of the fans from all over the world acknowledge the lacking nature of these hairstyles. I'm really, really hoping that someone from the dev team takes notice of this feedback from the fans. If these statements still hold true to this day... then this alone should be sufficient enough reason to delay and improve upon these hairstyles before they go live.
But if that somehow isnt enough reason, point 3 shows that if the team's conviction is met with the 'limitations' that they face right now, that they shouldn't be backing down from a challenge simply because it puts their skills to the test. There has been many examples where the dev team has been met with numerous challenges many many times, and that they have met and surmounted most, if not each and every one. I hate to feel that I'm entitled when bring up these points or that I feel dissatisfied at the care or attention of what was presented at the live letter; I genuinely enjoy this game that Yoshida and his team have been building meticulously over all these years. I just... wish all players could be shown the effort of the team (at least from an aesthetic standpoint) equally...
