Actually saw someone saying that "Hrothgar players always complain about what they get, you should be happy you got anything" and wow did it take a lot of willpower not to reply.Have to say i’m tired of seeing people trying to defend the devs and saying “they care.” No. If they really truly cared? They’d have came out with a community wide poll, with a list of hairstyles that hrothgar players would be in and they’d get to vote on them. Even if it was only 6 that would be chosen, at the very least it would be some that hrothgar players actually want and seem to look god. Not whatever mess this is where even they themselves couldn’t hold in their laughter. Yeah they care so much that’s why they were laughing right? People clowning around today.

We never complained. We're not Viera players. We haven't spammed the crap out of any of SE's streams, and we complain so little that there are people still surprised we have to buy fantasias to change hairstyles.
Some people just hate Hrothgars for the sheer principle of it. Some people just white knight the hell out of SE's weirdest decisions. I'd bet that person thinks Fellowships are the best system ever implemented and uses it every day to organize Lord of Verminion runs. People like that were in this forum just yesterday, and I honestly just feel sorry for them. Just ignore them and move on, we have better stuff to worry about.
If it happened to them, they'd likely be the first to scream and whine. Hrothgars have had to endure this for years, dealing with worse than Vieras did. And we didn't make half as much drama. That alone already speaks volumes about how the playerbase and the players actually react. Not the hallucinations of some random.
I still remember being happy that Hrothgar were announced, but wherever I gone there were people saying bad stuff about Hroths because they wanted their male viera and yadda yaddaIf it happened to them, they'd likely be the first to scream and whine. And this here, I agree 100%. If any other race had this problem it would be way worse in terms of people complaining. We may be a little niche, but we're a race in game that needs attention as much as others.
You know, I don't even need them to explain why it was possible for Miqo'te or Au'Ra. I think a better comparison is "Why were the VIERA able to keep their ears and not Hrothgar? The viera kept their ears for all of these hair styles and SE claims that they supposedly had the same challenges and modeling issues as the Hrothgar. Hense the no hats.
Sadly, the answer is probably...just that they were lazy.![]()
heard about the hair thing for Hrothgar quite a bit long ago and I was already skeptic at that time. My skepticism only as far as "It'll need Fantasia, I'm sure." But,
After I saw the actual news, um, I'm kind of disappointed, but not surprised.
It looks so unfinished and sad, if this is an April fool's joke, it's definitely the worst I ever had in like, ever.
I'm not gonna hope for anything at all about these Hrothgar hair, nor do I hope if it was just a(n) (un)funny joke but if this is -actually- a real thing.. Might as well keep Hrothgar as is.
I love my ears as is, too, thank you very much.
TL;DR right before: By guess they won't be able to, because reasons.
Technically Au'Ra heads have same issue as Hroth, having their horns connected to the heads. Still the hair styles are completely separated, and not bound in double combos like with hroth. Why so?
For Miqo, the ears are also "attached" to the head, but having a gap between head and ears for the hairs, allowing the ear twitching without deforming the face too much by doing so - although it's covered by besaid hair.
Viera have heads, hairs and ears completely separeted, leaving ultimate freedom. Even more than Miqo already.
With Hroth? I see more the problems around the head shape and less with the all blamed ears. Some parts of the hair meshes float around, while others dig deep into the skin just to pop out elsewhere again.
But as mentioned: Nothing a bit of tweaking cannot solve. Lowering the quality by maybe 1.5% and giving additional 300% freedom of choice. Good deal, I'd say.
If clipping is the big issue here, why caring all of a sudden? A lot of Au'Ra styles are already a big clipping show, and no too many cared too much so far.
After all, I take it with a phrase here: "Nothing is eaten as hot as it got cooked"
We will see in around 10 days how it will work and look, if everything shown was an April's joke...
And if people are literally forced to use mods to solve a problem, that shouldn't even exist right from the beginning. And with that I'm not even aiming for new hair styles at all.

i don't want to give up the fight, but at the same time the 14 team and Yoshida went ultra quiet right after the LL and havent spoken a word since the end of the stream. i want to hope and pray that these were just a joke and not actually what we are getting, but to leave that joke unbroken all the way to 6.1 would be just cruel on their part.TL;DR right before: By guess they won't be able to, because reasons.

Im bracing myself for them to push it through to live because they apparently given zero Fs about our opinion on the matter.
Made an account just to reply to this, since I've been keeping myself updated on it since the LL.
You know it's real bad when you haven't just upset an entire race's player base, but also a lot of people who play the other races who aren't affected by these 'changes'.
They honestly look like wigs and I'm shocked they even got passed QA yet alone were shown on stream. How is the state they are in acceptable?
It just feels like we're becoming ignored or just given crumbs and then that's it until who knows when. I'm beginning to understand why so many people who play Hrothgar think the devs hate them and showing off the hairstyles in that state would've just strengthened that mindset. Even I lost a little respect for the devs for what they showed.
I do hope Yoshi-P makes a Lodestone post saying they'll fix it rather than come up with another explanation of 'It's game engine limitations'. How can the man ask the player base to not use 3rd Party Tools, but then release something in such a poor state that people feel the need to use them because they just want what the other races have?
Just need to echo literally all of this, down to making the forums account to say it.Made an account just to reply to this, since I've been keeping myself updated on it since the LL.

Hrothgar are literally the only reason a friend got me to try 14 again, and to see this be the result after nearly 3 years of waiting has been frustrating at best, infuriating at worst.
