New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

Oh that's actually less bad. The inclusion of 2B and Snow hair makes me think maybe there are more universal hairstyles we will be able to use.

ALSO. If they have figured out how to slap hair on our heads, there is no reason they can't start making hats work.

Almost 4 years of no changes or additions for this. At least as far as I can remember there were no changes nor additions. Before 5.0, Hrothgars have had their textures and models polished up and both them and Viera have had a pet project by the dev team to add some head gear. And that was even before the 5.0 Benchmark! Since then Vieras have had some hairstyles and a male counterpart while no word was given to Hrothgars who can't even change hairs without paying real life currency. I do hope people's mindset doesn't default to "at least it's something". Or worse, "you knew what you were getting yourselves into", because that excuse sailed hard when BLU and Vieras were implemented due to fan demand.

The dev team urgently needs that boost in manpower. Quality has been declining, and Hrothgars have been getting the short stick for a while.

To say the hairstyles shown were disappointing is a huge understatement.
The only one that looks passable is Snow's, and that's because it covers everything up.

If this is all we're getting in the future—existing hairstyles for other races refit for hrothgars, I don't think there's much point at all and dev effort might as well be spent elsewhere.
Surely there has to be someone on the dev team realizes that most of the "hairstyles" only work with literal hair.
Most of them will not work as-is on hrothgars.

I only played the race briefly, but condolences to Hrothgar players. It's like a prank, but isn't... funny thing is, I recall that the Hrothgar were added under Yoshida's own decree, as iirc he mentioned in an interview way back in HW he wanted a more bestial-looking race.

Their solution to fix Hrothgar hairstyles issue by removing the ears, then ask us to pretend they are hidden under the hair is unacceptable. Even if it was meant as a joke, it is very insulting to hear such remark when Hrothgars have to put up much more limitations than the other restricted race.

I appreciate they're making an effort to add more options for Hrothgar. But I wish more care are put into them. Sure, it doesn't look too bad for some and may be able to use the new hair without caring too much. But you can't lie to yourself and others how dumb it looks without the ears. It gives an impression as if the people responsible on Hrothgar took a lazy approach.

You should take steps to make the race more apealing / less restrictive. Not push people away from it even further. I'm sorry to all the wonderful Vieras out there, but as long Hrothgar gets the lesser treatment I will have this slight resentment towards you simply because your race could get much better stuff than the Hrothgar can. : (

Where are the EARS?!?!?? My god this is awfull, I've been waiting so much time for this to finally happen and got super dissapointed, even when I had low expectations...

It does not make sense to me that SE do not have the resources to do better, how can modders do a greater job than the actual developers is beyond me... and the choice for the hairstyles, they're not the best fitting for Hroths, the karen hairstyle seriously??? 2B's?? What were they thinking, something like windcaller or some other short cool hair would've been great but no, they had to go for the most meme ones. Snow's is the only that is usable, and makes sense that has hidden ears because of the beanie, but the rest are pure hot garbage.

I've been playing XIV more than 4 years now, paying the 6 month subscription every time effortlessly cose I love this game, the people I met in it and the experiences I had. I've been growing as a person alongside this game and this stuff hurts when it hits your character, wich is the thing that you love and are most attached to, if they're gonna do it this badly I prefer them not releasing anything. Do it properly or don't do it, but don't give us this unfinished crap because this felt like SE laughing in our faces.

Worst part is he wanted them so bad yet oddly enough, doesn’t play them at all. Isn’t that funny? I also want to express my condolences for all the hrothgar players. This honestly isn’t even funny anymore and is just sad. Watching the game make record profits yet they can’t even do something like make one of the races accessible and more customized.
