
Indeeeeeeeeed. There must be classic style fights, nothing wrong about them, actually are enjoyable. The Aerum Vale and Cutter's Cry are a challenge as a dungeon, and have hard classic boss fights. Enjoy them!


Yup, but you can clear af/job quests in 2-3 days... And then? Where you use your af? I'd like to see many other boss.. and not only 2 per dungeon![]()


So what? The quests are designed to be completed by all so that everyone can get the abilities for each job. They are easier by design, but are still slightly more difficult than your average encounter. The quests are a means to an end. SE has hit the nail on the head with the job/af quests. We'll get more dungeons and primals in the game eventually, the job/af quests were never intended to be as difficult as those and rightly so.


The problems with Ifrit arent because its badly designed, its the problems with the servers, and latency.I never said that Ifrit was exciting lol ... I simply stated that it was a good start, but afflicted by the problems that we all know... I'd expected something like him, but better designed to those new fight... Not an huge stepback by making tank&spank boss... Those were good in XI 5,6,7..10 years ago.. But not in 2012. Even batraal (yeah before ifrit) was more dynamic.. at least you had to turn off lamps, and the tank had to move him away...
Thats why you see people powesliding because on thier screens they are well clear of the eruption, but the server thinks they are ontop of it so they die, then the server realises they had moved, thus making thier body powerslide across the arena, with the current servers they CANNOT add fights like Ifrit or we will have these problems, the only way they can fix it is making the window to move about 10 secs, then come 2.0 the fights will be super easy.
All we need is just one massive end-game area after 2.0 that takes months to complete. Good old sky and dynamis, but more innovative and exciting. They can do it

OP: I think that they are fairly limited with what they can do on this current server system. I am hoping once 2.0 is released we will begin to see more dynamic fights and less instances.
As others have said, the current server setup just won't work for Ifrit-esque fights.
Besides, they just released jobs, new recipes, and two new dungeons complete with some boss fights. That's a lot of stuff for a single patch...
So are you really complaining that they didn't do enough in that patch?
