There is *NOTHING* wrong with having two to four wards set to FCFS. (Two for personal and two for FC.)

Anyone who has real life situations that cause them to not participate in FCFS would still have 20+ wards of Lottery available to them.

I'm going to flat out say that having some wards as FCFS is a great middle ground. You all can have other wards with Lottery. Great! Cool!

Again, I'll repeat something I said before and you can call me greedy for this. People who have obtained Saint of the Firmament, the people who HELPED rebuild this whole district, should be allowed to FCFS or some sort of priority.
Thanks to tireless volunteers from near and far, Ishgard's once-ruined Firmament now boasts a host of facilities─including a brand-new residential area, Empyreum!

Another way they could prevent people from transferring to many plots in a FCFS scenario would be to put a CD on that persons housing. It would be simple to have them cut off for a certain amount of time after transferring. Possibly 45-60 days.

No, there is no "great" middle ground here. Lottery is the ONLY fair system we have at the moment. Taking away even a single ward from the lottery system and making it FCFS is essentially making fewer plots accessible to players who have real life constraints. Asking for even a single FCFS ward, given the current conditions, is quite frankly an incredibly selfish request. My chances of getting a house greatly diminish with the lottery system, but I would rather have EVERYONE have a fair chance at getting a house rather than giving myself a better chance.

So because real life concerns are an issue for some all should be subject to the random far fetched chance of getting a house in spite of the fact that they can get in world and purchase one with fcfs. You want to call them selfish? Seems to me those calling for lotto only are the selfish ones because they can't compete supposedly. It's really all a matter of perspective isn't it? I love it when people label others as selfish when it doesn't suit their situation.

It's really a mute issue now because first round will be all lotto and with Ishgard I don't quite understand the second round comments because I suspect all houses will be gone on most worlds if not all after the first lotto round. Does that mean any houses that are still available after the initial round will be fcfs. We will see. And does that mean that additional wards when added will be FCFS? The comment is pretty unclear to me but I'm sure that will be clarified in a few days.

The other issue for me right now is whether or not the lotto system will prevent people from putting in a bid on a private house if they partake in trying to get one for their FC. Hopefully this will be clarified with the live letter come April 1st as well.

It is also unclear to me given the statement they made on the Special Site only refers to Ishgard specifically and when it comes to the new Oceania Data Center for which Sophia is one of the servers does that include the former housing districts as well. I suspect it will be all housing but it would be nice if they clarified that as well.

You appear to have a very strange and twisted view of what "selfish" is. The lottery is fair to ALL. FCFS only works for those who have a good connection, a good rig, and are able to log in at any time. Just because your chances with the Lottery might not be as good as they might be with FCFS, does not make the Lottery selfish. This game is not all about YOU. There are a great many other players in this game with varying circumstances. The Lottery is the best option to accommodate ALL of them.

Oh no i don't. You are pushing your personal opinion and labeling others. Maybe leave out the selfish part and put your opinion forward without trying to impugn the integrity of others.

The Lottery is OBJECTIVELY a fairer system than FCFS. Tell me then, what is your motive for calling for FCFS? If it is not a selfish one, I would be happy to rescind my earlier statement.

I don't care if you rescind your earlier statement. I've made my point clear enough. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and so am I.

We need a single uniform system for housing purchases, not a mishmash of systems operating at the same time where players with real life privilege get to double dip into multiple systems. The housing system is already messed up enough due to lack of available houses. What is available needs to be distributed in as fair a fashion as possible. FCFS is not fair as it favors those with lots of flexible time available over other players who don't.

No, Saints of the Firmament DO NOT deserve priority. There were far more "volunteers" for the Firmament than just those who got a Saint title. The leaderboard competition was not about gaining a priority advantage in future content. It was about crafter/gatherer bragging rights for who could score the highest in a ranking period - bragging rights via the title was all SE ever promised us. Before you try to struggle to invalidate my opinion, yes I got my Saint title during the first ranking period, yes I earned my Pteranodon during Shadowbringers.

Relocation advantage is dead. It no longer bypasses the purchase timer as of 6.0 so there's no need to put any sort of cooldown on it. Anyone trying to relocate now has to compete against the timer and those making a first time purchase.

I don't think it's "second round" as such since the second round would come very quickly. SE is very unlikely to be switching ward designations around on a whim. It would be more likely to happen with major patch releases after they see how things play out.

The statement on the special site is definitely specific to Empyreum, which is why I said we'll need to wait for the Live Letter and the news post they will no doubt be making to detail the housing changes.

Even though I'm not in favor of it, I'm half expecting them to set aside two to four wards in the current housing districts for FCFS as a test, and possibly to give the Materia players a chance to start filling up their available housing (depending on just how much feedback they got from Materia players, not like these forums are the only source of feedback). If they don't have to mirror ward designations between worlds, they might set aside even more for Materia.

If they do make some FCFS, they'd be smart to limit it only to individual purchase wards since it's the FC house system that is most prone to abuse between RMT and players setting up multiple shell FCs to get access to more workshops.

The developers strongly disagreed with this sentiment in the live letter. They made the decision to not have any FCFS plots because they believed even a single ward being set up for it would cause a login rush and issues, not to mention they knew that players who attempted to get in FCFS and failed (most of them) would just use the lottery system instead. It's easier in that case to just have everything be lottery instead of a login rush causing long queue times, all the FCFS being scooped up in 5 minutes, and then everyone logs out to try the lottery.
