My WoL was designed to be my perfect incarnation when the "Great Isekai" happens and we all get warped into the game.

In-game/headcanon-wise, he's a very skilled chef (max level), but having grown up at the border of the Shroud and Coerthas, he can't cook seafood to save his life. He's good with inland fish and crustaceans, but any time he had to make a dish containing animals of an oceanic origin during his CUL apprenticeship, he cheated and had a friend make it for him.

Needless to say, this lack of ability is very vexing to his Sea Wolf wife (my alt). Unfortunately, she's only good at swinging an axe and brewing beer (her parents' profession).

My WoL is a Keeper of the Moon. He was born and raised in the deep forests surrounding Gridania. He was taught basic hunting skills with crude bows and spears. Unfortunately, most of his tribe feel victim to poisoned game while he was very young, set up by an unknown group who did not want the Keepers in the forest. His tribe being reclusive did not have access to anything beyond basic herbal remedies, which failed. Though his tribe did not want to seek outside assistance, and knowing he may be viewed as an outcast, he ventured to Gridania to learn the arts of conjury soas to never suffer such loss again. He was not immediately accepted into the conjurers guild, instead using his lowly archery and spear skills to help out the local Archers and Lancer's guilds. After earning some of their trust, he received recommendation to the Conjurer's Guild.

Since I don't RP with others, he then has gone through the FFXIV story from ARR to Endwalker. Along the way he became a full White Mage. Due to his interest in the War of the Magi, he also picked up Scholar as a side interest. He learned some Black Magic but this never felt right to him so he is not adept.

After an important event in Shadowbringers that is a spoiler, he found himself at times weilding the Axe. At this time I fantasia'd him to look older and added a scar.

After Endwalker, he decided to join a travelling group of Dancers to offer emotional succor in ways his White Magic could not provide. For the upcoming "Return to Adventure" Ark, he will be found as a WHM and Dancer.

His love interest is Lord Hien, whom I co-opted given I don't RP with others so he's all mine. After their meeting in StormBlood, he spent much effort in helping Hien restore Doma. Yugiri also made a comment in dialogue about how the WoL and Hien were gone far longer than she expected during a quest, which I screenshotted for amusement given this occurs during a quest where Hien and the WoL grow closer. I have started collecting some Far-East glamours and also recently picked up Samaurai, which I am RPing Hien is training him in.

When he retires he will be with Hien, offering White Mage and Dancing services, and using his training as a Strategist/Scholar for the benefit of Doma. Hien may end up fathering a child for progeny with Yugiri (if that is even possible in lore lol), resulting in very untraditoinal family dynamics. He will always return periodically to Gridania to check on who remains of his tribe, and will be forever close to most of the Scions and Ranaa of the Dancer's guild.

Wow, you've really thought this out. I'm similar in that I don't do RP in this game, so most of the things I come up with regarding my character are in accordance with the storyline. Maybe I should check out what RP in FFXIV is like sometime but I feel like I might be a bit shy for that.

My miqo'te is inlove with Thancred

Very, very, very short version of my WoL backstory.

She is a keeper of the moon who is adept at magic- she grew up living in a smaller moon tribe that drifted frequently between Gridania and La Noscea depending on the seasons and where food was.
She was taught to hunt and showed showed an aptitude for magic and took up learning what she could of the arcane.
When she came of age, she left her tribe after hearing of a visitor from Sharlayan that was residing in Ishgard, who supposedly could speak with the stars.
After struggling to find her way into Ishgard, she eventually was granted tutelage into becoming an Astrologian, to which she excelled.

during the Events of Shadowbringers, it was then she made her romantic intentions known to Thancred.


My Lalafell is just a skin suit and is actually an Eldritch demon who came from the dark, voidlike mouth of space- She awaits the day she can devour all life- but that Thancred guy is pretty cute

Wow, you've really thought this out. I'm similar in that I don't do RP in this game, so most of the things I come up with regarding my character are in accordance with the storyline. Maybe I should check out what RP in FFXIV is like sometime but I feel like I might be a bit shy for that.

I used to heavily RP with others in MMOs but no longer have the time, but I still love RPing in my head as a I go along.

RPing with others can be very rewarding though. If you do RP with others, it's usually frowned upon to claim you've done most of the things we do in the MSQ, since it would turn your character into a "Mary Sue" for RP purposes. Typically also frowned upon to claim you have close relationships with core NPCs. I think most RPers create a background unrelated to being a Warrior of Light, and more like a general inhabitant of the world. Which is also fun but it's no longer how I see my character at all
