Steam linking makes it so my brother can't play

I don't think anything will come of this I just want to get this story out there. I wanted to get my brother into the game so as a present I had set up a second service account so that we could play together. I didn't make an entirely new account because I wanted easy access to being able to pay his sub. Same reason that his account is also a steam version. So now we have to put money into getting his new account (if he even decides to keep going after this) unless somehow we can disconnect his service account from my general account. Which by all accounts appears to be impossible.

He has beaten endwalker and gotten most of his classes to 70. God I wish that this had happened 3 years ago.

Think of this as more of a PSA to not do the steam version of this game because it adds another company to the mix when there doesn’t need to be one. Yes even despite the fact it’s easier to pay the game through steam

My friend from Brazil goes through steam due to the conversion rate of dollars to reals being done better through steam than through squares service. Her subscription is about what it should be through steam at least for fairness of how much we all pay in the states. It converted to something like freakin 40 usds or something crazy where it went down to I think 30 but unsure it has been some time since looking this up. I do however wish there was more options through squares services for things like this.

That really sucks

I've always been on Steam. I started 8 years ago when there was no real functional difference between a normal PC copy and a Steam PC copy. But they've slowly started putting more and more onerous requirements on Steam users. Unfortunately, we're stuck. But I definitely would tell anyone now buying the game to save themselves trouble and get the normal PC version.
