Every game with any kind of build, gear, skill and character choice will have a "meta" for specific goals. Thankfully that doesn't stop them from continuing to be made.
XIV community just happens to be extremely unhealthy obsessed with META even if 99% of them would never be in condition to race for world first and for literally any other purpose as far as raiding goes it doesn't matter.

This won't change. It's ingrained in this community's culture and enabled by the developers.

True but at the same time the differences between so called meta and non meta can often be incredibly small or virtually insignificant.

You can also do a lot to combat it through good content design. The easiest and simplest example of this would be a racing game..
You can have 50 different car with 50 completely different strengths and weaknesses between them. some cars may have super fast accelleration but not a great top speed or low traction. other cars might have lower acceleration but have a much higher top speed. and amazing brakes, another car might have vastly superior handling and stick to the road like glue..

Which Car is the META or the best??

It could honestly be any of them if the games developers did a good job designing the tracks and circuits that those cars would race on... A section of the track with long striaghts and light sweeping corners that car with the best top speed might be king.. but a section of the track with lots of sharper windey corners and bends that slower car with super handling is gonna fly right through while the faster one has a much harder time... so as long as track (content) design is diversified and varied it becomes difficult for any one car to be the META

Shooters are another exampple good maps do a lot to combat meta.
In big open spaces a sniper rifles may reign supreme over a shotgun but in tight alleys and hallways that shotgun suddenly rules the roost..
again as long as maps are varied and diverse then a meta becomes difficult to determine.

MMOS are really no different decent content design would go a long way to combat any potential meta's..

I've said for a long time they should throw balance out the window and stop being lazy. gives jobs unique strengths and weakness es that setthem apart instead of the every job is the same bs

Same with combat every boss encounter is basically the exact same thing... the rotation you use on this boss is the same one you use on that one and that one and even that one. oh theres a new boss bet that one will be the same rotation again.... one of the reasons jobs feel boring because it never changes
