Personally I felt that Dancer should have had scouting gear even if it was a ranged class. They share the same stats and the scouting aesthetic makes much more sense for Dancer than the phys ranged aesthetic (which involves a lot of long coats). Maybe there would have been issues on the technical side or maybe they thought it would create confusion but if it was the latter issue, I don't think it would have been a huge deal.
