Prime Fights With New Jobs

Did Ifrit in 8mins with 2 blm (one not fully unlocked) 2 whm (one not fully unlocked) mnk war brd drg. Its not hard kill all the nails and Hellfire isn't a problem. Regen/stoneskin help mnk deal with seer dmg so it can pump out much more damage brd using ballad should be able to keep fist of wind on the entire fight.

Edit: Blm can put out much more damage then thm now because it can use freeze to lower enmity and has convert + bard so mp shouldn't be in issue.

I imagine as the new jobs are that much more powerful you should also easily be able to take out all the nails. a DD on each nail, if your issue is Hellfire.

Ha! thanks, we really didn't have much time to play with the new jobs much. We kept dying a lot. Its so hard to get any useful information with the Miquote Trollz tearing through here. I'll let my LS know and we can give it a try when we are actually having an event. <3

Beat ifrit with me tanking as WAR, 2 WHMs, 1 DRG, and a mix of THMs and BLMs. WAR > GLA or PLD for this fight. Vengeance was really hurting him, and hate wasnt an issue ever.

2 WAR with Vengeance nearly 1 shotted the ogre in the Darkhold. Did Vengeance work on Hellfire?

What I expected. ANYWAYS, I gave my opinion on it. I didn't patronize you since I said "lol" at the end of my comment. The paladin shouldn't be running out of mana if the white mages are healing. What's so patronizing about that?

Tricks I've found to help fight NM/Primal.

1) Find people that understand their job. This is very important and lots people haven't figured out how to play their job well.

Some pointers I've found (Keep in mind that this list considers fights with multiple monsters and/or trash spawning bosses as well)

-Find a Bard that actually wants to support you. Lots bard are still in the I'm DPS mindset and do not understand what support is. Bard is the support job, he should running around... supporting. Paladin ran out of mana? Bard has mana song and sanguine rite + sacred prism, your paladin should not run out of mana; otherwise You bard isn't doing his job. Is it annoying to run around the map buffing with song and such? It can be, but it is part the bard's job is. You Bard isn't rebuffing, EVERYONE, you should correct him or replace him.

-Paladin are also great support tanks. Between Cover, Divine Veil, and Holy Succor; paladin can save the main tank's arse.

-WHM mages need to be using regen and stoneskin. Regen is a godsent for healing. Non-tan takes damage, throw a regen of them and they should be fine. WHM takes damage, regen and he should be fine. Regen really help mana endurance for any NM fight.

-WHM cannot forget to rebuff protect... on everyone. I know, as a healer myself, fights can be crazy. Stil cannot forget to rebuff the group and not just the tank.

-MRD has awesome threat generation. You might want to consider letting the MRD tank. More threat generation means the other classes can unload more damage. More damage means the fight goes faster.

-Stuns, lots of classes/jobs have them, use them! Interrupting enemy spells/WS is vital is some fights. If the BLM alone uses a un-combo Thundra, he can save the tank from taking big damage.

-Crowd control, lots of classes/jobs have them, use them! Lots of player get too focused on doing damage and forget they have of these abilities. BLM are known for this in particular. A well timed blizzara can save a WHM, that pulled threat, just as well a tank can.

2) Communication. This is a huge party killer. If you need a rebuff, say something. Healer has threat, say something. Paladin ran out of mana, say something. Go in with a plan and discuss what could of been better after the fight. Call out when you do important actions, like raise.

3) Don't get butt hurt. Everyone makes mistakes and need a correction. You will wipe and you might of been the reason. Learn from it and try again.
