no point in re-reviewing a game that is still so limited by server limitations. With the 2.0 relaunch it will be reviewed as a new game."So in this week's issue of Random Encounters, we're going to do something a little unique. We're going to make a case for all the Final Fantasys. Need a quick argument? Want to stir the pot a little? Just take one of these ready-made bullet points:"
Final Fantasy XII
Why it's the best: Because its scope is incomparable. Its cities and landscapes are absolutely gigantic, and exploring them all is an absolute pleasure.
Final Fantasy XIII
Why it's the best: Because it has some rocking music. Final Fantasy XIII has the best combat theme of the series and a whole bunch of other bouncy, addictive tracks.
Final Fantasy XIV
Why it's the best: lol

It's quite sad if people still can't say a single positive thing about the game. I know Kotaku really doesn't mean anything but it annoyed me slightly. I think it's about time the media re-reviewed this game so that peoples attitudes toward it may start to change. The article opens by saying there is to much negativity and promotes a positive attitude by saying it will say something good about every FF game and then gets to XIV....that is a little unfair.

Just about every review of FFXIV is done in the first 20 levels and half assed done. Hell MMORPG 1 year review used screen shots from release."So in this week's issue of Random Encounters, we're going to do something a little unique. SE will push big for 2.0 and then the reviews will actually matter.

As many others have already stated, it's not time for a re-review yet.
I write for a gaming news site and I play FF XIV. I've been keeping an eye on it's progress, and while it has most definitely improved, it's still a far cry from anything I would recommend to my readers. Trust me, when 2.0 comes out I will be giving it A-list attention with an honest comparison to the original launch. If you're enjoying the game, great! But I don't think the average reader on your average gaming news site will (especially so now that it's pay-to-play.)

Even if they review it after 2.0 they might say the same thing, that dude from kotaku sound as he don't like any MMO because it take to much time...
I'm the Princess of the Night~~

He my not give it a good review but there are plenty of other honest reviewers out there who will give it a fair score. The map remake, UI redo, and new servers need to be done for a solid review.
